::yes:: Saw it coming! :) Mostly 'cause I'd be so tempted to do it if I were in her shoes ;)

Well I didn't get the job :sad1: and am feeling pretty low right now. Although I love my current class behind the scenes politics at my work are pretty bad. I tried to leave last year but was unsuccessful then too so I just don't have the confidence to keep trying. To make it worse I am sure I will be given a really hard class next year with children who this year swear at their teacher, are cheeky, verbally abusive and walk out of lessons, who fight and have hit members of staff and who just don't want to learn and try to make sure no one else does either. Yet it will be my job to see them through their exams and make them do well so it does not affect our place in the league table. However several of these kids have spent more of this year out of the classroom than in so are academically behind already. This year they have got worse as they have been allowed to get away with things I personally would not have stood for but now they think this is acceptable. Plus their parents don't care or make excusses for their behaviour and the head said she is sick of trying to sort out discipline issues and we have to sort them out ourselves yet we do not have the power to do anything about it!!
Oh what I would do no know I have at least got a trip planned for WDW right now.:sad2:
Oh I forgot to say the head today said I interviewed really well but they gave it to someone with more experience:confused3.

Isn't that on the schedule for 2007? But now I see it may be bumped up to March 2006! COOL!! That's Abbie's favorite, too, so we have to keep the VCR around at least until it's released!!

Danauk, there is a movie "The Substitute"...."Power perceived is power achieved"...

On the first day of class explain to them that you have heard of the reputation of this class. Your room is being observed, by your request. Copies of the tapes will be shown to your parents. You will not tolerate poor behaiour (see I spelled it your way) and that this is a place to learn. You have asked for special dispensations for the principal to administer corporal punishment...(then stare at the worse one and say "that means being spanked like a baby!"

What do you think?

For iluvtink.........

I can only imagine who it was who posted on the SWA. Uhhhh.........LlebrekniT can post that Spirit Air is a lower fare than SWA and they assign seats. They actually allow you to pick your own seats on the website, so the argument doesn't hold water. I am sure a family could all sit together without and issue.

That poster was a booger picking eater.

Nice work on the Cinderelli Niceosaurus, did you get any help with the answer????

Please tell courtasan to check her PM's.

OK, you were right kadaten

Hugs  Danauk. Do you know who gets the difficult classes? The best teachers. The ones who can handle the challenges and needs of the students. Just like you!! Hang in there sweetie.

QOTD: Has anyone been to WDW over a holiday weekend like Memorial Day?

My honeymoon was just after 7/4 and it was hot and crowded. I don't remember going on tooo many rides. I remember going on IASW several times, Dumbo once, Peter Pan once, Wild toad (I will miss it), tea cups, Tom Sawyer Island, the train, AE, TTA, and a couple more rides. This was before fastpass and there were only 3 parks. Does anyone remember going to Epcot and making ressie using video conferencing booths?

Long story...feel free to skip if time is a concern....but oh, the memories....

We used to live in JAX so we could go whenever. So we went on the holidays but didn't expect to do any rides...just people-watch and have a nice meal and see the fireworks. We never even made advance PS's ever (well until Dec. 2003 when we took 20 people with us). Used to just decide where to eat and yes, make a PS at those booths in Epcot :) When those went away, would just step into any restaurant when we decided where to eat. If there were not tables, no biggie, we'd be back soon :)

We were there on one Easter Sunday, which evidently was the last year they did the big Easter parade. We went down, not even knowing they were doing it. It was SO pretty....can't imagine why they don't do it anymore.

Busiest I've ever seen it was when we spent New Years Eve 1999/2000 in Epcot and rang in 2000 with I don't know how many other crazy people! All of WDW was absolutely NUTS that weekend!! We had AP's and had moved to VA in January 1999. August or September rolls around and we get a postcard from Disney telling us there have been some cancellations....call now if we want to spend ring in the Millenium at WDW!! :happy2: I couldn't have dialed fast enough!! The CM said they'd been booked for YEARS...but of course, over the years, plans change, people move, people die, etc. so there had been cancellations, and they let their AP holders know first :) (Probably one of the BEST benefits of the AP I've ever been able to use :) )

Remember all the worry over the Millenium bug, etc? Well, DH (military intelligence) was wondering if anyone was going to try anything, so he walked around all day with an "earbud" type headphone in his ear listening to the news every 1/2 hour. We had both dressed up (don't you always dress up for New Years Eve parties? DH-khakis, dress shirt and tie, blazer; me--long black skirt, crisp white shirt, sequined "holiday" vest, HEELS) so folks were asking us for info all day thinking we worked there! Luckily we knew where to send them for phones/bathrooms/place to eat/place to rest/etc and didn't mind at all!

All of WDW was a zoo. Stayed at CBR. Waited for a bus to the parks for 2.5 or 3 hours....every bus that passed had folks practically hanging out the windows it was so full. There were rumors they weren't going to open to outsiders at all that day, so we didn't want to try to drive. Plus, one of the drivers stopped to tell us there was gridlock everywhere and that's why there were no buses....they were all trapped. Finally got a bus to MGM...the only one that came. Another couple from CBR we'd been talking to came with us. From MGM, walked to Boardwalk area hoping to enter back gate of Epcot. The line was about 2 miles long...it was looping all over the place. But folks were being nice and calm...they just wanted to get in, which we did another 1.5 hours later.

Chatted with that same couple the whole time. They'd met a guy the night before who was staying off property but who had PS at Chefs du France for New Years Eve. (Note that all the CM's politely chuckled when you asked if there was room anywhere to eat. Many people spent their entire day in food lines....stand in line for lunch, get served 1.5-2 hours later....eat. By then almost time to stand in line again....) They were planning to go to Chefs du France before the PS time to see if he showed, but if he didn't, to take his PS! So they invited us along, as the PS was for 6. Once inside the park we went our separate ways.

Met them back at CdF at 6...by PS time of 6:30 the family with the PS was a no-show so they (chickens) told me the name and I told some creative stories to get us that table :) One of the best (and THE most expensive) meals I've ever had at WDW! After dinner, we bought a bottle of champagne to split, found some glasses, and found a place to stand (sit...yeah right...and get trampled!!) and watch the coundown and fireworks !! Pure magic!! I know how sardines feel now, but still....PURE MAGIC!! :wizard:

After all this walk down memory lane, I'm SURE glad we leave in only 8 days! :hyper:

I'm so sorry they passed you over for the job Danauk. They really don't know what they're missing. As for the job your at, is there any way you can request a particular level - not the one you don't want? If you have seniority at your school, I would think that you could pick your assignment over the other teachers - at least I hope you can.
