Morning all! :teeth:

I'm going to be heading over to Disney in a little while...anyone want to come? ;)

Oh if only.....!

Legomom, I pray that this works out for ya'll. It'd be nice to have another Southerner. Dh has finally been announced as a true Southerner by the neighbors (and he was born in Boston, lol).

Hey I was born in Boston!! :thumbsup2

.

Good morning! My we're up and about early on this Sunday. I didn't expect to find so much chatter already!

I'm just sitting here waking up with my little ol' cup o' joe (oh who am I kidding, it's a HUGE cup o' joe!:rotfl: ). It's my Tigger mug that has his face in relief out the side, and the handle is his tail.

No other news to report. Haven't heard from the realtor since yesterday morning - it's been almost 24 hours since the 2nd showing and I'm just like, "Well???????............" Yeesh, I would have expected to hear SOME thing before now. Are they thinking about it?...did the husband not like it and they're moving on?....are they working up an offer? WHAT?????!!!!!!

The realtor we have this time is very good, though, so I continue to just sit and wait. She knows what she's doing.:scared:

The ILs are coming over this afternoon for a visit. If 2 weeks go by and they haven't seen us, MIL thinks it's been like 2 months. So I took the initiative to say I was tossing beef tips in the crock pot and they were more than welcome to come by!

.

Hey LegoMom. :goodvibes Waiting can really be a pain sometimes. I'm glad you feel comfortable with your realitor though.

Beef tips in the crock pot sounds yummy!! We are doing beef and chicken shish-kabobs on the grill. Can't wait!!

LegoMom, good luck. UGH waiting for the phone to ring for some news.

Smiley, I'm looking forward to using my grill again. I can't easily get to it right now.

I could use the grill these days - there is no snow left on the deck - but somehow the thought of standing out there in 30 degree weather just doesn't do it for me...:sad2:

I'm also watching the long-range forecast to try to make a final decision on our NYC trip! They can't seem to make up their minds. And of course there's just enough distance between there and NH that our weather can be totally different. I've got to decide on a date soon, though, and book the hotel!

So how much longer until you start to feel like spring is springing?

Can't really say when the ice will be out. Depends on the weather of course. Usually mid April. March can go both ways, but hopefully near the end snow will be about gone. Then if we get a snow storm, we can tell ourselves it won't be long before it melts again. The closer to spring, the closer to my daughters GRADUATION.

 That causes so many conflicting emotions.

It sure does. My daughter has already instructed me not to be one of those parents that cry at graduation. It's not something I plan and I can't help it if I do. I'll try not to embarrass my family. :lmao: It will be a very busy time b/c my son will also have activities for 8th grade "graduation." That is IF he passes 8th grade. :sad2: I have to set up a meeting with his principal. He has other issues besides not trying very hard. He has much more difficulty now concentrating and staying focuses. He is VERY easily distracted. You have a conversatin with him and in the middle of it he starts talking about something else. His mind jumps from 1 thing to another and can't seem to stay focused. He also loses things at home and papers from school. He will put something away and not long after you will ask him where it is and he has no idea. I'm so frustrated and stressed about it.

Has your school offered to do any type of testing? I bet creativeamanda or Mean Queen could give you some ideas on directions to take. It is so frustrating when a child has problems like that. I had three above average kids and one that struggled...badly. :sad2: It took a lot to get him through school. He also happens to be the adrenalin junky of the family. Our own little daredevil.

It's kinda funny hearing you guys talking about eighth grade graduation...The only graduation I ever had in school was high school. I guess it depends on where you live?

Have you talked to your doctor about this? Is he like this even at home? It sounds like attention deficit problems to me, but I haven't seen him, so I would not even haphazard at a guess. Have you tried a school-home contract with him? Even without refering him for special education, your school should provide interventions for him--getting his agenda signed, providing him a copy of notes after he'sa done his own to recheck for accuracy, reducing the amount of redundant math problems (if you can do 5 long division problems, you can do 40 correctly). If you have specific questions, I'd be glad to help. This is what I do from 7:40 to 2:40 every day.

Why are you still here? You should be on your way to Disney.

I'm letting the camera charge and waiting for the rain to end. It's pitch black outside my house right now and I'm hoping the showers aren't at Disney.

It's not really a graduation. They used to call it that when I was younger. They changed the name to 8th grade celebration. I'm just used to calling it 8th Grade Graduation. They have an evening they give out some awards. They also have a special dance for the 8th graders.

Nope, school has not offered anything.
This in bold IS MY SON.

It's getting to the point I may need to talk to his Dr. Things have become worse since he hit puberty with the hormone change. I certainly have been thinking about attenion deficit. If there are things to try before drugs, I would much rather go that route. He loses things at home and school. A little while after "taking care" of them, he has no idea what he did with something. At school if he loses a paper, that means automatic zero which really hurts grades. Math is actually one of his better subjects. The school he is in is thought by many as the worse out of the 3. The 3 I am talking about are Grade School (K - 5th grade) Middle School (6th - 8th) and High School. Too many teachers in this school, lets just say, people are very unhappy with. This is vacation week then I am setting up a meeting with his principal. No one has helped us so far. I just get emails (after I ask) pretty much saying he's a pain, has difficulty focusing, gets distrated easily and doesn't complete his work. Last week I emailed 4 teachers asking how he was doing and 2 of the teachers never responded and I know they read the emails b/c I got read receipts.

CLOWN :clown: :faint:

Dh thinks it's hilarious. I'm not excited. She says one day she'll take off her clown outfit to come see me.

:lmao: She sure knows how to torture her mommy.

I was thinking of running to Disney today too, but DH doesn't want to waste the gas. I had my bag all packed with snacks and everything. Now it's too late because traffic will now be bad.
