I've been so disgusted with all the hoopla over the "event". It IS history in the making, but it should be treated as so. It's an historical event, yet it's been billed more like a Who's Who of Hollywood. At least in my neck of the woods.

On the little tvs in the elevators in our building, the only coverage of the inauguration that I saw was a picture of Beyonce and Jay-Z, the latter of which was wearing what looked like a beaver carcass on his head. As a hat.

Apparently Aretha's got nuthin' on Jay-Z. LOL

Aretha did sing as did Navy people. Aretha did not sing one of her songs, it was - hmmmm it escaped me, some American song.

My Country 'Tis of Thee, I believe someone told me.
I had to sing that song every morning in 3rd grade. LOL

While politics is certainly not my "thing", this IS an historical event and what I'm most hopeful for with this new Administration?

I have a Disney ?. Not that I will be going for a long time, just thinking ahead. At Epcot, is Universe of Energy with Ellen good? I know it's 45 minutes so wondering if it's hard to hold interest that long.

I like it. It's a great ride to get out of the heat on and rest if you are there when it is hot. But I like it any time I go.

Ellen's EA is a great ride. I always like it. I make sure to see it at every trip and say hi to my dad when I am on the ride.
Years ago I took my dad and he refused to go on that Le****n ride. He was 82, and we called him Archie Bunker on more than one occasion.
Well my sister and I told him it was a dinosaur ride and didn't let him see the title when we drove his wheelchair into the building. He was angry at us when the show started but he also loved Jepordy and Alex Trebec so he sat through it.
When the ride was over he begged us to take him again, and again, and again. I saw that show/ride 18 times in 4 days.
Now that he is gone I go on it and think of my dad and how much he enjoyed Ellen.

What a great story. Thanks for sharing. Whenever it is that I end up in Disney again, when I see this for the 1st time, I will think of your Dad. Oh and my father was an Archie Bunker type too. I love that show.

.... To think it was not too many years ago that African-Americans could not drink out of the same water fountain or had to sit in the back of a bus. The Riots were not that long ago and now we have an African-American president.
