I am definitely sick of the snow...:headache: But then again, I'm also dying to move to Florida!:lmao:

Saw the coolest thing last night on the rail trail near here - there were a bunch of people with dog sled teams! We were driving by and noticed several trucks and the trail head was all lit up, and then we saw the dog teams (either getting ready to head out, or just getting back). Now THAT would be a cool thing to do in the snow!

.

Aww! I love sled dogs! Esp. Huskies and Malmutes. :goodvibes

It got a lot warmer today; the Ice Cream Man even came by.... twice!!:hyper: But he was going so fast that I couldn't catch him.

I wanted ice cream!! :rotfl:

Oh we all have people we dream about. One of mine is Captain Jack. pirate: I can't resist a drunken pirate. :rotfl2:

OMG! YES!!! He is soooo HOT! (drools slightly...) That's the only reason I went to see Pirates III!

It would be so difficult for my family to move into the hard winter areas of the country. We have nothing for really cold weather. I just can't even begin to imagine what 24 below is like. We have gotten into the teens one time this winter. For which I am very grateful for.

My husband and I have never seen 24 below in our lives either. That was awful and not a feeling I can put into words.

I would LOVE to try dog sledding. SO COOL.

So it's Tuesday morning and I'm dying to know....

...did you Carolinians get snow???!

It's a balmy 8 degrees here right now! :lmao: Hey, at least it's above zero.

OMG I just went dog sledding for the first time on Sunday. It was so much fun. We found a place in the Poconos that will actually let you led the team. They even let DS5 lead the dog sled team. He was very excited.:hyper: Definitely something you should try atleast once.:)

I know, it's great to wake up and have it above zero. :thumbsup2

AWSOME

Good morning ya'll. :wave2: :grouphug:

For all of you inquiring minds....There is no snow. :sad1: At least not yet. The temp. is dropping and it is very windy out. And so far snow is as close as 45 minutes from here. So, we will see. :) Upper state usually gets a little snow a few times a year.

I'm watching the news and the amount of people in Washington is just mind boggling. :upsidedow I'll probably be on here a lot today because I am going to watch the inauguration. :thumbsup2

Legomom,

We have an inch and if it continues, we'll have another inch by the end of the hour. This is the first snow we've had since we moved into our home in 2002. You can imagine the kids' excitement. I could do without it.

We had sleet first last night, so I'd assume the roads are tricky. At least we have no school today!!

Enjoy your snow creativeamanda. :goodvibes

Smiley, I hope you get your snow. I just saw a clip of DC. It looked like wall to wall people. I will be watching the inauguration later too.

I'm pretty busy this morning and later afternoon. 1st I need to make muffins for my brothers 48th b-day. This is the brother that does not do gifts but is ok with us making him something. I need to go to the post office and to my brothers to drop off the muffins. That will take a bit b/c he and the brother that lives near me are ice fishing so I have to park and walk out on the lake. Home for the inauguration then my sons away basketball game. Oh can't forget dog food after the basketball game. The Buicks are pigs.

I don't know if we will get snow or not. That's okay. Thanks anyway. :goodvibes I was just standing at my sink watching the birds. We have several feeders outside and we have so many birds that come and eat. Right now we have 2 Red Headed Woodpeckers and 2 Cardinals as well as a flock of Doves and Finches. I love watching them. They just recently found the bird bath. :)

Home made muffins sounds really good. What kind? Whatever they are I'm sure your brother will enjoy them. Just be careful on that ice!!

I bet your buicks are pigs. I can't even imagine their food bill.:sad2:

:goodvibes I am enjoying having another day off. I didn't get everything done I wanted to yesterday.

See, it's a good thing. :goodvibes I still have a ton of laundry to work on. I think we have a snarky laundry fairy that visits in the middle of the night. When she waves her wand...well, you get the idea. And it isn't good. :rotfl:

I like hearing about your birds. They must be cute in the bird bath. I have see some eagles lately ice fishing. They hang around and watch for people to throw fish like yellow perch or pike on the ice. Then it's meal time for them. Pike are not supposed to be in our lakes. Some horrible person put them in illegally. They take over the lakes and make it difficult for the other fish to survive, but they are fun to catch. That's why people throw them on the ice, in case you were wondering. They kill them right away so they don't suffer.

I just took out a batch of jam filled muffins. I washed the dishes and ready for batch #2. I think I will make cinnamon with dried cranberries this time. I will give my brother some of each batch and we will eat the rest. I don't like my muffins real sweet or covered with sugar. I hate when you buy one somewhere and it's covered in sugar and taste more like a dessert cake. They have 1/4 cup sugar in them.

My dogs sure are expensive to feed. We have to cut our food bill to feed them and there wasn't much room for cutting to begin with. :rotfl2: Meals can be "interesting" and I am Queen of Stretching Meals. :lmao:

You have some of the most interesting experiences. Ice fishing and watching Eagles. (they are such beautiful birds!!)

The muffins sound yummy. I know what you mean about stretching meals. We had beef stew 2 days ago and there isn't enough left for another meal. But still a lot. So I am adding more veggys and turning it into vegetable soup. And make some cornbread to go with it.

I like how you put that. I have "interesting experiences." I may not go out often or travel to fun places, but that is a positive way for me to look at my outdoor activities. I really appreciate you saying that and it gives me a different perspective to my life.

I almost lost my jam filled muffins to the dogs! They were cooling on the counter and I forgot to shut the gate to keep them in the living room with me. I looked in the kitchen just in time. They were starting to sniff them. Another second or two and they would have started chowing down. That's the issue with tall dogs; they counter surf.

Ah, you know what I mean about stretching meals. That is exactly something I would do. Some people think it's quite odd or even pathetic that we sometimes have boiled eggs as our protien. Like I will make vegtables and rice and boil eggs to go with it. It's inexpensive and healthy so I don't understand why it's so strange. Maybe I'm just used to it.

:goodvibes Traveling is great. But it isn't necessary to make memories or enjoy your day.

Counter surfing. That is a new one!! :rotfl: Thank goodness my babies can't do that. When Oscar (the tallest one) stands on his tippy toes his nose is even with the counter.

Stretching meals is like painting a master piece. ::yes:: :rotfl:
