This may sound surprising, but I don't have any trips planned. We just got back from camping at Ft. Wilderness. It was a quick trip, and the putting up and tearing down of the tents made it feel shorter. But it was so action packed, it evened it out. We did the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I love the show. So cheesy, so funny, especially after a few of the all you can drink sangria. :faint:

Our camp site was good and bad. Good because it was directly next to the comfort station (rest rooms/showers/laundry) and bus stop. And bad because it was directly next to the comfort station and bus stop. While it was nice not having to walk to go to the bathroom, you could hear other people heading to the rest room all night. What was worse was the big road right by us. The buses weren't the worst. It was the drunk idiots in a golf cart driving by at 4 in the morning the first night. They'd drive, skid the brakes, then honk the horn. All up and down the road. If it wasn't so cold, I would have run out there and beat them upside the head with my shoe.

We got lucky and saw Chip and Dale at the campfire, made some smores, then took off before the movie started. Instead, we headed to the beach to watch Wishes. When it was over, my DD2 said "I want to see it again!" :rotfl2:

I think next time we either get a pop-up or we stay at a hotel then hang out at the Fort all day. I just sleep horrible in a tent. I am a lady of luxury. :snooty: :lmao:

this is where we are going to go when we save enough to go i should say (working on it) BUT we will be in an RV :cheer2:

That would be an ideal way to go. :thumbsup2 I want to be one of the people that get those half a million dollar mansion RV's and live at the Fort for half the year. Then travel the other half.

I have to stop reading the title of our thread. That song...oh that song. Somebody make it stop. :rotfl:

Maybe we should pool our money and play the lotto together. Then we can eack buy one of these with our winnings. :thumbsup2 I can dream can't I? :rotfl:

My parents have a very cool rv that we will borrow. we have 5 kids and i did the math we would sooooo be saving if we borrowed instead of bought and over getting two rooms which is what we would HAVE to get according to the guide lines and I am not guaranteed ajoining rooms. so I figure this way it would be fun plus I wanted to stay on resort period (once in a life time trip for us so I'm going ALL the way) :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1:

I am also a horribly light sleeper. I always have a fan running for white noise. But even my super powered fan wasn't strong enough to drown out the noise. I'm just a paranoid sleeper. If the wind blew the rain flap, I thought someone was trying to get in my tent. Since DH wakes up for nothing, I feel the need to be extra wary. DH and I said we both feel like we have a hangover from the lack of sleep. It rained last night and we weren't prepared for it. Our tent was fine, but the one with DD9 and her friends wasn't covered well. So he got up at 2 a.m. to fix that. Plus, it must have been a late night at the MK since lots of people came home on a bus at 2.

Ah, we have the same issues. Light sleepers with husbands that sleep through it all. I know what you mean. The fan helps but doesn't drown out everything. I would never sleep through busses, golf carts or people talking on their way to the comfort stations. I also get that hangover feeling after hardly sleeping a few days. Try being exhausted then crawling out of bed and climbing a mountain. Man, that's a killer. Then your body is so dead, you are like a zombie. :lmao:

You go girl.:thumbsup2

I have a camper in the back yard that belongs to my uncle. But we's have to shove him out of it for a week. . .

RV at Fort Wilderness will be so much fun. I would LOVE to do that, but we don't have one we could borrow nor would I want to drive from Maine. If I had the $, renting a cabin would be a nice.

I used to be like that with needing darkness too. I have been working on it and I'm a little better. Not very good when your camping and up with the sun though. Especially after being awake most of the night.

This may be a really stupid question, but what is this fandub you speak of? I have no idea what you are talking about? :rotfl2: Sorry if I am really lame.:rotfl:

Don't worry, you're not lame! :lmao:

It's where you take your favorite scene from a Disney movie and through the magic of computers, you add your own voice so that you're speaking for the character!

Did I explain it well?

That's really cool.

Yes, you explained it perfectly.

You explained it very well. And it sounds really neat.

GUESS WHAT....GUESS WHAT? I was just listening to the weather and we are supposed to get snow tonight. Us....here....snow!!!!    They are actually using the words "winter storm" Here, here, here. :faint:

Ok, here is another stupid question. :rotfl2: What does DD & DM stand for? I'm guessing maybe Mom and Dad b/c of the 25th anniv trip.

Another camping light-sleeper here! I don't go anywhere without white noise of some kind. DH snores up a storm, too, so I need earplugs on a nightly basis.

Mean Queen, I'm glad you guys had fun but I'm really disappointed with the drunks incident. I don't deny anyone the right to unwind and camping is a great way to do that, but what is NOT ok is disturbing the peace over it. Unfortunately we have found (at least up here in NH) that camping is more and more becoming the hang-out of just that kind of people. We will go mid-week whenever possible and have even "black-listed" certain campgrounds because quiet hours are not enforced at all. I would have hoped that Disney would be more diligent in making the rounds and keeping that sort of thing from happening.:sad2:

*Rant over!*

Anywho, we have a pop-up camper and while it is definitely a step up (literally!) from a tent, it doesn't do much to keep out noise. You really need a hard-side camper for that (and white noise!:rotfl: ). And try as we might to stablize the thing, I feel every single move that my kids make on the other bed end....Rolling over, fixing a blanket, sitting up. Ugh!

Smileybug, is the song out of you head yet?!!....or, did I just put it back simply by bringing it up!!:lmao: I find when it gets really bad for me, I just go to YouTube and play the little clip and get it over with.

That would be awsome if you got to see some snow. I saw another foot of it fall yestersay. You could always come visit me and the Buicks if you want to partake in some winter fun.
