I don't have a palm tree...but I have green grass. I would love to have a white Christmas. (Just a little one. )

To give ya'll an idea of what I have been doing.... I have 14 trees up and decorated.

I have been without power for 8 days now due to a whopper of an ice storm last Thursday night. We have a generator that we run mostly during the day, but I've had no laundry and no stove for all this time...! There's only so much you can make in the microwave and we're all craving a normal, hot, home-cooked meal. I won't even talk about the pile of clothes in the basement! At this very moment, we're getting a snowstorm that is supposed to dump 6-12", and then another one coming right on its heels on Sunday morning, bringing another 6-12". If you scroll back up to the top of this page, you can see the appropriate smiley where I'm banging my head against a brick wall....

I would rather give the lakes a chance to freeze with nice safe ice before all the snow. However, nature doesn't seem to care what I want. With the car accidents and deaths lately, I'm even more paranoid about road conditions. I've had more than my share of car accident deaths in my family over the years so I was already a little crazy when it comes to safe driving. No news yet why my friend was found dead in the snowbank outside his house.

We had a nasty ice storm yesterday. There are still thousands of folks without power. We were lucky the only thing happened to us was a loss of phone and internet for about 12 hours. The temps warmed up a bit so the freezing rain turned to rain but unfortunately it hasn't gotten warm enough to melt the ice from the power lines and trees. There are lots of trees in the roadways and some areas are flooded. Yet and still it's not as bad as it has been for the folks out east - not even close!

Mean Queen - I just went to the Bay News 9 web site for some warm-fuzzies a la the St. Pete Beach cam, only to see that y'all have some fog there this morning! Wow.

So we got like a foot of snow overnight. Or close to it. DH just finished clearing the driveway. He's got to go out and go to the bank and retrieve the kitten from the vet (the spay visit!). I have GOT to get out this afternoon or I'll lose my mind. I need to get one more thing for DS12, then stuff for everyone's stockings. I am trying so hard to catch some Christmas spirit.....

Hey I know, maybe I should put up another 13 trees!!

Smiley, I cannot imagine how festive it must be at your place!....do you have a picture of even one little piece of it?!? I'd love to see that!

Check again in an hour. We've been waking up to pea soup fog but the sun burns it off usually by 9:30. You should be able to see some nice warm fuzzies then. I think a cold front is trying to break through our heat and is creating a nice blanket of fog each morning. It is supposed to be a high in the low 60's on Monday. Much different than high in the high 70's low 80's of the past week. I'm not looking for a white Christmas (not after reading what you all have to go through), but I'd at least like to be able to cut off the a/c for a bit longer.

I'll go for warmer temps. Around 75-80 degrees is fine with me.

We only had 4 inches of snow Wednesday into Thursday. Tonight into tomorrow we're supposed to get 1"-3". That I can deal with. We've had a ton of rain. So much so, I'm ready to build an ark.
