I was hoping some of our family could come up for a day during our trip. Unfortunately, they are Florida residents and have seasonal passes and our days are within blackout days. Oh well.

Aww sorry to hear that  They're missing out on some good chicken soup!

Anyone ever find the tag fairy? I've been trying to stalk her for a year but can't find her LOL!!!!!!!

I think I got my tag in this thread and it wasn't that long ago. Stick around! I haven't seen her lately but she'll be back.

That's ok, that's what I'm here for.

BTW, DD12 brought home her report card AND SHE GOT HONOR ROLL. :cool1:   :woohoo:

Congrats to your DD!

Thanks! I hope you guys will come visit me! :goodvibes

You know I'll be there. Just tell us the restaurant and we'll show up to harass you.

I'm here--downloading extra content for my Sims. . .trying to decide whether or not I'm gonna go ahead and do a ticker for my next trip. I've booked it, but we want to kind of keep it quiet. We might have to move it.

I love the Sims, but it became to much with all the expansion packs for my computer. My laptop (may it rest in peace/pieces) was not strong enough for it either. My next one will be a gamers computer. :thumbsup2

Yeah--the TF has been MIA recently which can only mean she'll be back soon!

And that usually means Tagapalooza!!

This laptop (the Vista) is strong enough for it, but Vista does not exactly like the CEP files or the Clean Installer and I won't play the game without either of those. My XP computer has close to the same configuration as the Vista, but the Vista has better graphics. I'm hoping the updates for FreeTime may have solved the problems is was having.

Aww I feel so loved :lovestruc I promise to give you a good table :rotfl:

That's the only bad thing about the Sims - it takes up so much space! You pretty much have to have a desktop to be able to play otherwise it gets laggy

I hope so!

The big thing with the game is that you really have to have at least 50% of your hard drive free, have to shut down all background programs, and have at least 1GB of RAM. Otherwise it will lag. Then, if you have added some custom content, it can't be more than your RAM amount. So, my computer has 2GB of RAM. I try not to have more than 1.5GB of custom content. This means I have to spend a lot of time indexing my content so I only have in there what I use.

I also do not download houses, etc., from the Sims2 Exchange. That's the simplest way to get ahold of something that will crash your computer.

My favorite thing about Apartment Life is the return of the Butler. It frees up my Sims to do more important things. Like learn magic. :rotfl:

Maybe you guys can help. How are the Twilight books? It's a series, right? My daughter is looking for something to read that will spark her interest. She is NOT a big reader. Like me, she finds it difficult to get interested in a book. She liked Harry Potter and Gossip Girl and a few other random books. Who knows, maybe I would like the Twilight books too. I couldn't get into Harry Potter. I just soon watch the movies. :rotfl2: I'm on the 4th Gossip Girl book though. I used to like VC Andrews, but I have no idea what the Twilight books are like.

I've read the Twilight books. Although they are entertaining, they are not in the literary caliber of the Harry Potter series. They would be a good read for your daughter, IMO though.

They were discussing these books just recently on my other regular thread, which is here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1983335

If you hop over there and ask (tell them I sent you!) I'm sure you'll get some good replies! :goodvibes

I think I will try that, thank you. I just hope they don't mind or see me as an intruder? I would mention your name like you suggested of course.

You are no more an "intruder" there than the new folks who pop in here! Sure, we have our "regulars" but it's open to all. Tinkerbellarella posts there too so she would know you. She hasn't posted too much lately but I'm sure she'd give you a big welcome!

Thanks. I appreciate it. :cutie:

This kind of scares me b/c I was not that interested in Harry Potter. :rotfl2: I think I only made it all the way through 2. I might have started the 3rd and gave up. I was told by a handful of people that they get better as they go on though.

Twilight books are good but honestly I don't think they're for kids. Unless your child can handle it (my parents let me watch R movies way too early ). It's just not subject matter I would deem appropriate for anyone under 13 or 14.

Honestly this makes them sound more appealing. :rotfl2: My daughter is 17 and a Senior in High School so she is fine. Thanks for the warning though. :goodvibes My son is 13 but he would not be interested. Unfortunately, he hates to read. I read to him all the time when he was little, but right now he sees reading like a homework assignment. :lmao:

Oh then nm! It was really the last book in particular. I was reading it like I can't believe kids are reading this! They're really great but the last one was very graphic at times. And it doesn't get good until 200 pages into the first one. There is WAY too much teenage whiney angst. It drove me nuts!
