Usually the answer to any problem/question about Windows is to shut down and restart. I don't know why, but that usually is the case. :confused3

Myspace is good for keeping up with family you don't see often. But we have family who thinks it is necessary to air all of their dirty laundry on myspace, which becomes quite boring.

I finally finished updating my page last night. Figured that I'd get rid of my part in the political mudslinging by just leaving one little icon on the page. . .

It's amazing what some people will say on Myspace. Sometimes things they would never say in person. Reading what teens write is interesting.

Morning all! I have no plans this morning, but I should get out and do something active for my little one. I may do the bouncy castle place since it looks like it might rain.

My family also likes to use MySpace for big announcements. I read that my grandmother was in the hospital once on my cousin's MySpace page. No one bothered to call me. After that, my cousin has been nice enough to call me before posting things like that on her page.

I'm guilty of not calling family when dh's mother was in the hospital. :headache: But truthfully, she was in the hospital every other week. We didn't call them, but of course, they did not even visit their mother at all the last year she was alive knowing she was in a nursing home. And I did not announce it on myspace. Other family members knew (the ones who bothered to call/visit) and they should have called to alleviate pressure off of us. We were too busy working full time, visiting the hospital twice daily, and raising three children. Another family member who knew could have picked up the phone. But it was all our fault. :confused3

BTW, anyone have any paperwork for me to do today. . .my office day? I'm all out of stuff to do. :confused3

Somehow everything is usually my fault too. Family is "interesting."

No paperwork now, but when I need to fill out financial aid forms help might be nice. ;)

Well, they found plenty for me to do at work, if you all could tell. I was buried in preschool children with disabilities paperwork so far that I have enough to keep me busy next Wednesday, too. I wish I could have a vacation before my vacation. I am worn out and we still have 2 days to go this week. Tomorrow and Friday I get to spend the whole day both days in meetings.

That's a long time in meetings. YUCK

I guess you better watch what you wish for.

Yeah. Bad thing is I am supposed to be able to dress down on Fridays. I will not do it when I have meetings all day. :( I won't even get to be comfortable.

I know. Oh well. 15 more days and I will be on my way to see the Mouse!

Sadie only has 2 days!

I wouldn't want anything messing with my dress down days either.

OMG 2 days. I must get packing.

One of my daughter's teachers was very mad that we are taking her out of school 4 days. He made sure to make remarks about us as parents. NICE. I wanted to email him but my daughter didn't want me to so I will be quiet. Unless I see the man and he dares bring it up. Friday is teachers workshop and Monday a holiday that's why it's only 4 days.

Ok, I need to vent. If you don't want to read just pass me by.

:offtopic: The ex texted our DD and said that he couldn't pick her up on Friday cause he had to work on Saturday. He's an Accountant. There is no d**n excuse as to why his employer would need him to work this weekend. It seems that he's always pulling this crap. He got her a cell phone this summer for her 12th bday. He wanted to know what he should get her and that's what I told him. The only reason why she got a cell phone was due to the fact that I worked during this summer and she was home alone all day for the first time. With a cell phone she could carry it with her when she went to the pool or whatever. Before the cell phone, he called our house to talk to her. Now he always calls her on the cell phone since she's on the same plan as him.

I sent him an email. Very nasty at first. Then I used the backspace to make it nicer. Not to nice, mind you. Just nicer. I told him in the future he needs to contact me and not her.

I'm just really irritated at him. I must be PMSing.

DD & I had plans for next weekend. Now they're ruined. She wanted to go to HersheyPark in the Dark. It is only for three weekends. We were going to go the first weekend. I don't want to make plans to go the last weekend since it may rain. In the beginning I had told her either a Halloween party or HersheyPark. She chose HersheyPark.

I wanted her to look forward to something and I'm afraid that if it does rain the last weekend of HersheyPark in the dark then she got absolutely nothing at all to celebrate Halloween. She seemed ok with the idea of having a party on Fri. the 31st.

At least we'll be able to go to the Alpaca Farm open house this weekend.

Ok, rant over.

I hate that! :headache: If I miss any school I always make up my work or do it ahead of time and most of the time teachers are fine with it because I still do well in class but there's always that one teacher that has to make snarky comments. Argh. I missed like a month of school last year because I was REALLY sick and you know what, I made a 3.5 and teachers still had to make comments.

Just ignore it.

You know, as a teacher/educator (whatever in the heck it is I do these days. . .I'm not sure myself), I am the worst for telling a teacher who has a problem with me taking my kids out of school to go fly a gosh darn kite. Typically, they don't say anything to me, though. I can be pretty nasty if I have to be and the school dare not crosses me. (Let's see. . .I once forced the district to hire a thrid kindergarten teacher because I pointed out to the superintendent, the school board, and the state department of education they were in violation of class sizes; I called legal counsel for the state department of education when I discovered the district went 12 weeks without a speech therapist; and my daughter is the only student in the entire district with both an IEP (speech and Occupational Therapy and soo to be Learning Disability) and a 504 Plan (asthma and latex allergies)). When they see I've called, they cringe. They think something is wrong. Bad thing is, dh works for them. :confused3

Why did he think it was okay to bypass you to text your daughter? Sounds like he has some serious issues. I probably would have been real mean. I don't do well with people whom I perceive are treating my children wrong. (Mind you, I don't think my kids are angels) But in a case like that, the mother hen in me would explode!

I hate that! :headache: If I miss any school I always make up my work or do it ahead of time and most of the time teachers are fine with it because I still do well in class but there's always that one teacher that has to make snarky comments. I agree. Ignore it. What's he gonna do? Stop you from going? Absolutely not!

I'll have to meet with the truancy counselor when we come back. No problem. Last year, dh told the truancy counselor to go ahead and give him a form for the next 3-4 years so he could sign it then. He told her that as long as our kids were doing well in school and we could catch them up, we would be taking them out of school about every 18 months for a family vacation.

What gets me is teachers have a problem with that, but they seem to do nothing about children who miss 1 day every other week for reasons that deal mostly with oversleeping, mama couldn't get me to the bus stop in time, and my all time favorite--we weren't able to get rid of the headlice. I mean, really. Third time during the year your kid has headlice and each time they need to miss 7 days of school? And they wonder why I show up at the door trying to figure out what is wrong.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL

I do hope its a good day for all of you. :goodvibes

SadieDog....I hope this trip is the most Pixie Dust filled trip ever!!
I know you are going to come back with ...awwesome memories!!

HAVE FUN!!

Thanks Smiley. :)

PaMom, I hope your daughter is not too upset.

My daughters art teacher gave her trouble too when she said she would be out for 4 days. My son tried to get some of his work from a couple middle school teachers and they told him that he will get it when he gets back. I thought it would be nice to be able to work on it before returning to school so he would not get behind. I seem to remember someone else saying they were told this too. FRUSTRATING

PaMom...I hope you and your ex can find a middle ground that works for both of you. I know you don't need this extra stress.

I hope everyone has a stress free, great day.

SadieDog, when are you going on your trip?

Just one more day SadieDog until you head South for some fun in the sun. Make sure you pack for the heat.

PaMom - I'm sorry your ex is being a jerk.

Hello ladies! Sorry to have been MIA for so long, I have a cold that just won't quit. It's A-W-F-U-L.

I think I'd feel better if I'd just been hit by a bus.

I am leaving my house tomorrow about 10:30am. I have been busy all day but still have plenty to do. At least I got the dog crates to my brothers and all set up.
