Hey, DO, why is it sometimes I see your splat and sometimes I don't? Does it go on vacation, too?

You're doing better than me cause I never see it. All I see is a red X. It showed up for about a month after I got it then it disappeared. It must have something to do with the computer setting cause some folks see it all the time. I'm not technologically saavy enough to figure out why that is.

It's still only 58 here (66 in the house - I refuse to run the heat yet...too early in the season!)....I am absolutely freezing!!

We only just paid off this past spring's fill-up of our propane tank, right before vacation. I am NOT in any rush to start that process all over again!! We will have the wood stove this year, however, which will help immensely. DH has gotten a lot of wood for free, probably enough to last most of the cold months. If we only have to use propane for hot water, that tank will last a lot longer! It'll also help keep the electric bill down with not running the furnace all the time.

Ugh, I can't wait to not have to deal with winter heating issues!!!!!

FREE WOOD!!! A cord of wood has at least doubled in price. It's awful. We have some wood from blown down trees. It's a lot of work delimbing, dragging it out and cutting it to length and then burning all the brush outdoors, but worth it. We have a woodstove in our cellar with a grate in the floor above it. We use it during the really cold spells. It helps warm the floors and warms the room that's over it. We don't have enough wood to use it all the time, but we can't anyway. Not with my sinus issues or when my daughter has asthma problems. I'm afraid to know what a gallon of oil is now.

That's a nice thought.

It was cold at the football game. All I want to do is go to bed and sleep through the night. However, I am not too confinent that I will be able to sleep soon. I have 4 teenagers on their way here. They are supposed to have a fire outside. My bedroom is above the living room. No door, just a staircase. No way can I sleep with them inside under my bedroom.

DH made me mad so I turned in early. I simply did not have the strength to bicker with him over something so silly. Men!

What's everyone up to this fine Saturday? Typical Saturday around here for us - errands to the home improvement store, take trash to the dump, probably a run to Target. Later we'll be going to the Harvest Festival the next town over; there are some skate boarding races that DS11 wants to see, plus a fair and flea market, a kids' pet show and pony rides. They have fireworks tonight which we'll skip....They just won't compare since we watched Wishes less than a week ago...

I'm going out tonight with some friends. We're going for pedicures then the Melting Pot. We may go see Rocky Horror Picture show too. It just depends on if us old ladies can stay up that late.
