I'm still trying to decide if I'm doing the right thing by packing shorts for ds and capris for the girls. I think the girls will be fine and I'll just leave ds' stuff up top to add a few pairs of jeans at the last minute if need be.

If you were from the far North, I'd say that'd be no problem. But since you are a little bit south, I'd throw in one pair of jeans and a light sweater. The end of October is iffy for us on cold fronts. Sometimes we get them, sometimes we don't.

Yeah--I already have the jackets (fleece hoodies) in the box ready to go. Thanks for the reminder, though--I couldn't remember if I grabbed one for ds or not. Packing is taking me a long time because I'm packing each individual outfit in a Ziploc baggie. I'm doing 7 outfits for each kid and bringing enough laundry detergent for 3 loads of laundry just in case.

The smaller car means we have to pack less than normal, too. I'm trying to narrow everything down to 2 plastic Sterilite boxes, 2 suitcases, my backpack, and my Disney World tote. If I need more, I'm gonna have to ship it. I keep meaning to try it all out in my trunk to see if it will fit. That may be a project for tomorrow.

Make sure you sit on or just really squeeze out all the air from the baggies. That leaves you a lot of spare room. Though I generally have to squeeze the air out right before I zip the suitcase, since the bag reinflates a bit over time.

Right on it . I'll be resqueezing the week before. I realized today 33 days left! (Really 32). See, I could argue that that is only a month left, since the last week I'll be in such a daze we won't get anything done.

Now I can say I have 32 days (instead of 33), because my ticker is counting today. And if I don't work tomorrow, why count tomorrow? However, with that logic, the ticker is way off. I should have 23.5 days left, if I account for a half day. Tickers lie! Lie, I tell you! (insert maniacal laugh here)

I forgot I'm not counting the whole last week. That's 18.5 days. If only it were all true.

Oh well, sometime this week, the ticker will drop all pretenses of this 1 month and so and so days and just start counting days. To think, this trip was planned in January--1st payment Jan 15. I've already gone through 251 days of waiting, 32 more won't hurt.

ETA: Now I only see a red x where my ticker was. I think I've insulted it.

I need to call the Dr at 8am for my daughter. She has been sick for about a month. At 1 point it almost went away, but is now back in full force and her ears are bothering her.

Yeah, that's what I told her. Unfortunately I have way too much experience with that. Which reminds me, I need to eat and take my last pill. She usually gets something requiring an antibiotic this time of year. She gets worn out with field hockey. 10:15 appt.

Of course, she seems to feel fine now that she's at home and away from the test. She gets tummy aches over the littlest things. It's always so hard for me to know if it's a real one or just her nerves acting up. I'm really thinking I should have made her stay at school.
