So....is this what has happened to all of us? :confused3

Have fun at Vero Beach Mean Queen.

Is that you in your "McMansion that isn't a McMansion" ?!!

.

Well I'm sure I don't know, you tell me!! :rotfl:

Hey, we only need 2 more posts after this one to fill this page!

I'm leaving in about an hour to take my kids to the grandparent's, but I'll try to come back in tonight.

Anyone gonna be around?!

.

:Lurker pops in to help with quest for a full page:

Happy Friday, everyone! :yay:

Around here, a McMansion is a very large house - often too big for the lot it is built on - that attempts to look stately and majestic but is really just like all the other residences on the same block.

In other words, if it was impressive enough to really be called a mansion, they wouldn't have been able (or wanted) to build 16 at a time.

But seeing your tag, I'm worried that I've just offended you! :scared:

YAY a new page!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the help, friendofgusgus! :thumbsup2

Ok, Smileybug is messin' with us, she knows perfectly well what a McMansion is! She doesn't actually live in one, but when her new house was being built, we were all giving her a hard time over it because it is big! And apparently, based on her tag, the Tag Fairy was listening in during that time! :rotfl:

You haven't offened me. But thanks for caring. The tag is a tease. While we were building there was a nasty thread on here about McMansions. We have acreage in the country. It is a custom country home. Not a mansion. It's just a little on the large side. There is even real furniture in every room. :rotfl:

Thank you.

I wonder if we could be so bold as to hope for yet another new page before the day's end?!.....

It's Homecoming in our town. I just got back from my daughter's game and I am now getting my winter clothes ready for the High School football game. Brrrrrr it's going to be a chilly one.

It's actually a frigid 53 here. :rotfl: Okay, I know it does not match your cold, but it's cold to me for October. Hope Homecoming is wonderful.

Good morning.

That is pretty cool. Homecoming was good. Listening to the screams of an injured player was hard to listen to. It was one of our Seniors. He was at the bottom of a pile of football players screaming in pain. His ankle may have been broken; he was helped off and did not put any weight on it. A thought came to my head "maybe I'm not so thrilled with my son playing football."

:lovestruc Cute puppy.

Well we ran the wood stove last night... when I saw 43 degrees outside I finally caved. But!...when I got up briefly at 4:00am, it was 73 in here!! :woohoo: I would never run the furnace that high...always had it set around 65.

SadieDog how did you painting go? Are you getting paid for any of this???!....you seem to do a lot of painting for family members! You're probably good enough at it now to make it a little side job!! ;)

Have a good Saturday everyone!

Man, I wish it was 73 in here. It's not even 63. :lmao: It's up to 42 outside right now. I'm getting ready to take the dogs for a walk in the woods. I feel bad b/c they did nothing yesterday and were alone all day.

Yes, I am getting paid some. My mother received inheritance and instead of paying someone else, she has hired me. Even thought the poly is water based, it still is making me dizzy, sick to my stomach and gives me a headache. Funny the headache makes my nose pound. I liked painting outside in the fresh air much better. The rain has prevented me from painting the deck this week.

I don't want to make it sound like my mother has to pay me to do things for her. I have done so much for her over the years including packing, moving, cleaning new places and unpacking several times when she kept leaving her second husband then going back to him only to leave him again. She also saves $ by paying me less then hiring a professional. Though I must admit, my end result is just as good and sometimes better than these so called professionals. I am picky about my work.

Sadiedog, I hate it when high schoolers get hurt in football games. It's so hard to watch and is so sad. Sometimes it means the end of a college scholarship, which in our area, is the only way some of the boys have a chance at college. I hope that kid is okay.

I actually can understand about your mom. My dad used to ask my husband to take care of the cows when he was out of town. It was something Dan gladly did, but for some reason, Daddy felt like he had to pay Dan. After refusing and turning around and finding money stuffed in the refrigerator, oven (you get the idea), we caved. I say my parents paid the closing on our house. That's how they paid the closing costs. Three years of caring for their animals when they were out of town. Which added to a lot. For all of those years, Daddy worked in Columbia, SC, during the week and came home on the weekends only.

creativeamanda, :rotfl2: Money stuffed in the refrigerator. :rotfl2: That's great. :rotfl2:
What a great way to pay for your closing costs and help your Dad. :thumbsup2 I"m not making nearly that much. I get paid $10 an hour but I always seem to round the hours down.

Hi everybody! I'm leaving in a few hours to head down to Indianapolis as we are flying from there. I'm excited 'cause the hotel we're staying in overnight has the Sleep Number beds. Can't wait to try it! Oh - and we have reservations tonight at PF Changs. I've never eaten there before but people who have rave about it so I'm excited about that, too. Can you believe I just finished packing about 1/2 hour ago?
