I've priced out a trip and have a spreadsheet made. Doesn't necessarily mean we can afford it, but at the same time, what have I got to lose? I'd be out on maternity leave anyway, so the only issue is if DS can comfortably miss two days of school and if DH can get the time off from work.

Am I crazy to even think of this? I don't know. Should I really be taking a two month old to Disney World?

The Poly coffee is a must do for us. I told dh we're checking in at 7am on the 29th, then driving to MK so we can park as close to the front as possible and walking to POLY. Nothing like a good cup of coffee to start our trip, eh?

...except a Zebra Dome (or two...) to go with it...

Ugh....I found the Zebra Domes to be SO disappointing!! Yes, they're yummy, but they're like ONE teenie bite! All the pictures I saw before actually going to Boma made them look like something about the size of a small custard cup. Not.

Now the ice-cream cookie sandwiches at Disney, on the other hand...!

Airfare.

Even if I can get a great Disney deal, airfare is sooooo crazy for four people. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Which is how we can go to Disney so often, no airfare. But we can't go other places that our car can't get us to in a reasonable drive time. We would actually like to vacation places other than Disney but can't afford the airfare.

Airfare IS nuts right now. I'm watching fares for the fall for DH and the boys to go to NH. Right now it would cost over $1,200.!!!!! I've flown all FIVE of us from NH to Orlando for $850! I think those days are over, though. Sadly. If we don't get a sale or a DING for them, they may end up driving. That, or wait until spring and next year's tax refund.

I would love to be within driving distance of Disney, but I can totally understand how it would deter you from going elsewhere. We're lucky that a lot of New England attractions are a driveable distance, and even certain other states wouldn't be too bad of a road trip, so that is a plus.

Oh, I hear you. I'm looking at a very short four day trip, just to price it out, see what it costs, and Disney is soooo reasonable with the summer room rate. It's that airfare for the four of us is anywhere between $1200 - $1500 depending on flight times. I mean, seriously?

Gas shot up today, like 15 cents/gallon! Ugh....Pretty soon DH won't be able to afford to fly OR drive to NH! At this rate we should just buy two airline tix for my in-laws and call it done. There's only two of them. But my boys would love to see their cousins again so that's a major reason they're heading north.

SadieDog, that kitten is SOOO relaxed!! He has just moved right in and taken over. Sometimes the look on his face just oozes "I've never felt such comfort in my LIFE!" I'm sure he hasn't, either. He has discovered, and very much likes, the indoor life!

Cats can be so content when they find their owner. Then turn on you when you forget to clean their box for a few days by leaving a present in your bed. For the second week in a row. Let's see how content that not-so-hypothetical cat is when I kick her fat indoor cat rear outside.

Cats can be so content when they find their owner. Then turn on you when you forget to clean their box for a few days by leaving a present in your bed. For the second week in a row. Let's see how content that not-so-hypothetical cat is when I kick her fat indoor cat rear outside.

I don't get presents in my bed but they'll drop one on the floor next to the box if I don't clean it to their satisfaction. Which is, on average, twice a day. Guess that's the price I pay for having FOUR cats now..... (actually we've had five at one point, several years ago!).

Our dog is an outside dog, but not the cats. We had indoor/outdoor cats in NH and lost every one of them to wildlife. Never again.
