Hmm...suddenly I am not quite so sad that I can't watch [hear!] AI.... I was reading recently that Idol has only put out two stars that went on to really "make it" in the real world, and that they need another one if they're going to survive. Apparently Adam is favored to be that "one."


So I woke up this morning to a dead computer monitor! No idea what happened. Yesterday it worked fine, this morning it wouldn't power up. Fortunately my dad had a spare, since he just upgraded his.

Pretty much. I like Kris and love Adam but I wouldn't download that song if someone paid me. If Idol wants to claim they are finding a singer relevant to today's music, the song should be relevant to today's music. Or at least well written with a good melody.

...or not written by one of the JUDGES....and I use the term 'judge' loosely...

Hey everyone.

That was a horrid song last night on Idol. I hope I can stay awake to see the results.

My TV shows are getting fewer all the time. No more Amazing Race, Survivor and after tonight, Idol will be done too. That's probably a good thing b/c I have so much going on. Sunday is my daughter's Senior Prom.

Adam lost, Kris won on Idol. Though I think Kris loses with that "No Boundaries" (almost can't call it a) song he has to put out as his first single. I realized I didn't watch long enough to see if he did the "Going to Disney World" commercial like David Cook did last year.

Mean Queen, here's that potty chart you wanted to see.

Because I know when I wake up, the first thing I want to look at is a good old-fashioned Potty Power Chart. I feel so silly today.

Hopefully you can see it clearly. Basically, we would put one sticker next to each number (also taught counting which was great...how many more do you need to get to ten) until he hit ten. Once he hit ten, I would draw a line and we would start a new column, and he'd get to pick a prize.

Wow, that's one heck of a prize bucket!!.... We did a similar chart for DS9 (he was my tough nut) only his had Thomas the Tank Engine stuff on it...when the train got to the station (via stickers!) he got a reward of some sort.

Weekend's almost here!!! Anybody having a big cook-out on Monday or anything fun like that? We might do that. Haven't had burgers on the grill since coming down here, although we had to part with FIL's gas grill when we moved so it's back to charcoal (which I really do love, but you get used to the ease of the gas grill!).


So, are we going to have another day of silence here on the babnana thread???!

Hey ya'll.

I gotta admit that I'm a little shocked about AI last night.
But the show overall was really good. It was such a walk down memory lane for hubby and I.

LegoMom...A gas grill might be easier, but you can't beat the taste you get from a charcoal grill. Especially with all the flavored charcoals out now. If you don't have one you should look into getting an electric starter. Then you don't have to use the lighter fuel. (And risk having that risidual taste) The starters are about $15.00. And well worth it. We have a gas grill but we have become charcoal snobs.

To tell you the truth....I have been just plain yucky the last few days. But I'm getting better.

The electric starter is sold just about anywhere. We got ours at Lowes. Its in the grilling area. Hubby also uses one of those charcoal chimneys to get things started. I must say that he is becoming a grilling master. The more he grills....the less I have to cook.

Hey, ladies. I was shocked about AI last night, but I also think that although Adam is more talented than Kris, Kris is the more marketable of the two. That was evident with the artists they paired up with. Though many people don't like country music, it's still the most popular form of music in the US. That's in contrast to rock/heavy metal that Adam would end up doing. In the end, it all goes down to people's taste and there is more marketability, as evidenced by the votes, with Kris. That's just MHO.

Hi all. I had to stay at daycare a few hours over today b/c the lady had a Dr appt. Otherwise I would have been on earlier.

Why is it 86? Yesterday was in the 60's and this weekend will be 60's. Where did this heat come from?

I was surprised last night with the Idol results. I think many people who were voting for Danny gave their votes to Kris. I like Kris and hope he does well, but his talent does not compare to Adam. I loved seeing KISS and Queen last night. Adam was awsome with them.

We usually go camping Memorial Day weekend, but prom is Sunday so we are staying home. Our weekend cookout is Saturday at my brother's house near me.

I'm heading up there this weekend myself....I got a "Mom's Mental Health Day", got a FL resident 1-day pass, and will be heading up for a day of solo-park-touring bliss!!
