LegoMom....I love that happy birthday pooh. So, so cute. :goodvibes

How are you today?

Hi Smileybug!...:wave2:

I'm having an "ok" kind of day. Not horrible, but not fantastic either. I'm having issues with DS12 (again...). Lately it's all about his attitude with DS9. He and DS7 are like best friends most of the time, and for some reason he just treats DS9 like dirt. I hate it....it's nasty and hurtful and I've had enough. I understand with multiple siblings that some may get along better and some are closer and all that, but you don't treat someone like he's been doing to his brother. It's like he goes out of his way to make DS9 feel put-down and worthless.

My dad called me a while ago, too, and he just found out that his best friend has a terminal cancer and not too much time left. My dad's not an emotional person but you could hear the pain in his voice. Stinks to not be right there anymore, y'know? Ugh. I got to know this friend, too, and so I'm pretty down about this.

On a lighter note, our armadillos were in my newly planted rock garden last night!!!!!!:scared1: They didn't do any damage (precisely why I did NOT plant flowers in this area, only shrubs and ground cover) but there were the little holes this morning, dug right through the bark mulch.:headache: The journal entry would look something like this:

"Armadillo Journal: Day 2 - I thought since my previous and successful efforts at eradicating the scorpions and spiders out in the yard were so well-received, that I would focus my attention next to the human's burrow (which, oddly, is above the ground....:confused3). This assures that none of those pesky arachnids actually get into the burrow. Left a series of nice, neatly dug holes as evidence of a job well-done."

.

LegoMom....... Just for everything. I am so sorry about your dad's friend.

I have no advice on your boys. My 2 middle children had a love hate relationship. They are really good friends now that they are young adults. (Pretty much have all the same friends) But when they were younger the older of the two could be so mean to the younger one. :sad2: Looking back on it now I really think it was a combination of stress and just plain unhappiness. Do you think maybe the moves could have hit him harder than he has been expressing? You are dealing with such an emotional age anyway. But you are absolutely correct in he doesn't have the right to take whatever out on his sibling. We somehow worked our way through the tough stuff. I'm sure ya'll will too. Just stay on your toes for any avenue that will get him to open up. Remember that kids need to know that they can open up to you without you freaking out. :3dglasses

Your armadillo sent me an email......They want their own blog. :rotfl:They are actually talking about striking until you are willing to negotiate a reasonable blog set up. They figure once the arachnids reach a certain level of activity you will see things their way. :scared1:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:That's the funniest thing I've read all day!!!!!....thank you.

So, an armadillo blog, huh?.....

So I suddenly found myself looking into Disneyland for our next trip! We could drive it from here and incorporate all the sights along the way (i.e. Grand Canyon!). I think we could do it for around the same cost as a week at WDW, but my only concern is whether DH would have enough time off from work. But it bears consideration! I've always wanted to see California.

Hello, good people!

Kimmar, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadiedog, sorry about the mess. Ugh.

LegoMom, I am so with Smiley. The armadillos need a blog. I know I'd read it for sure. :thumbsup2

Great idea about Disneyland. I can't wait for DS to be at the age where he can start appreciating road trips. I used to do them all the time with my Nana when I was younger. She was a teacher, so she had summers off. We went to DC, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Canada. Gosh, so many places. Good times. :thumbsup2

Hey TK. :goodvibes Have you had a good day?

I agree.......Disneyland has my vote too!!

I have found myself looking at Disneyland some lately.

I have the worse indigestion tonight. And I haven't eaten anything since lunch. I don't know what caused it. The only thing I have to take are tums and they aren't working. :sad2:

Oh, Smiley, I hope you feel better soon.

I had a great day, actually! The change of staffing at my place of work has made me a chipper cheerleader again. :lmao:

What I mean to say is less drama = happy TK. :thumbsup2

LegoMom - sorry about your dad's friend.

I totally understand your kid sibling issues. My oldest is treating her sister like she's evil. Actually, she calls her evil on a regular basis. Today, she got all upset about something at school and decided to take that as a reason to go off on her sister (throwing stuff at her, chasing her with a hair brush, and taking away her pacifier) and on me (how I like her sister better, never do anything with her, and give the world to her sister and not her.) Since I was an only, I have no clue how to deal with it. Just wanted you to know, you aren't alone. And if you figure out any answers, please share. I'll do the same.

We are home schooling. I'm trying to get DS12 set up with an on-line curriculum and having a hard time making a decision. He needs structure and wants to do something on the computer. The other two are much easier....they're very much "go with the flow" types and we build our studies around what interests them.

Armadillo Journal: "Day 1 - slept all day. Awake at 9:00pm to begin rounds. Filled the Lego yard with holes as I annihilated the resident scorpion population. This seems to be a welcome process. Will repeat procedure tomorrow."
:lmao::rotfl2:

Umm....Christmas decorations???.....Really, hon?!.....It's ok, we're here for you..... You can tell us all about your obsessions. We won't laugh (much)....
:rotfl:

.

We'll only laugh at you on our side of the monitor. :surfweb::happytv:(ok, so this isn't actually a computer monitor).

"Armadillo Journal: Day 3 - Life really STINKS...I think I'll go walk across a highway - verr-r-r-r-ry slowly..."

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

kimmar, kimmar, kimmar.............Repeat after me......armadillos are our friends. :grouphug: :rotfl:

PaMom.....I figure you out of everyone would understand my love of Christmas decorations. :sad2: You work in a Hallmark store. You HAVE TO UNDERSTAND.

Me too!! I had a "step" after age 13 but I never had anyone to deal with in my younger years. I'll keep you posted and let you know if I stumble across any magic solutions!

:scared1::lmao::sad1: How do you know that they don't do windows? Have you checked with the UNAAE? (United National Association of Armadillos Everywhere) You should check their Union guidelines. :thumbsup2

Is that what you got for your birthday? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

LegoMom.......Those two holidays are just the start of the Christmas season for me. It goes like this......Halloweenmas, Thanksgivingmas followed by Christmas. :thumbsup2 :banana::banana: Did I tell ya'll that I had 14 trees up last year? And one of them had over 600 mercury glass bulbs on it. :):):)

You know, there is a lot of repeating after me going on. Are we sure we can all be trusted? :confused3

You know the old saying, "You learn something new every day." Well, around here it goes, "You see something new every day."

For example: we all know there are armadillos here on a nightly basis. The other day, a Black-bellied Whistling Duck showed up in the pond. This afternoon two different kinds of turtles swam to the dock to investigate the commotion made by the fish as I fed them bread, and a short time later I saw a Red fox bound through the overgrown horse pasture!

Since we've been here, we've also seen two Roadrunners, a Blue Grosbeak, Great Egrets, Green Herons, and the most ginormous Great Blue Heron EVER.

Not to mention the herd of Fallow deer, two antelope, two Watusi cows, and six donkeys that all live on the camp property....

I feel like Mean Queen's tag: "A whole zoo!"
:rotfl2:
