Tagging Luggage WITHOUT DCL Transfers

So are you taking DCL transfers to MCO to pick up the van from Alamo or is there one near the port?

We are renting from Budget in Cocoa Beach for $79 for the day including tax.

We got a round trip with Happy Limo so we're picking up the van back at MCO. If I had thought about it more, we probably would have just gotten the limo for one way, picked up the van in Cocoa (there's an Alamo location there), driven to Orlando and dropped the van off at MCO at the end of the day. But, I figure it'd be nice to come off the ship and not have to worry about too much until we got back to Orlando...

Psiklops-

We were also on Delta and were able to check our bags at the port and our flight departure time was over 4 hours away at 3:50pm. We were off the ship and checked our bags around 8:30. However, we were unable to get boarding passes until we got to MCO because of our flight time.

You may want to ask at the port if you can check your bags.

We're doing the land and sea in Jan. We're using Disney Transfers from MCO to the Polynesian but not from the Polynesian to Port Canaveral...I'm assuming that I should put my tags on my luggage prior to leaving NY and leaving them on...its not going to mess anything up when the limo drops us off at port...am I assuming correctly?

jlp651: I'm not sure about that one - did your cruise docs say what to do with the tags? I might be afraid they thought you were doing the sea-part first and transfer the bags to the ship when you arrived.

Anyone else ever go this route?

Well, just spoke with DCL again today to confirm what I was told earlier about transferring the luggage. The story TODAY is (and this CSR got it from her supervisor) that they will tranfer the luggage to the ship, but they have a manifest of who's purchased the ground transfers and if you're not on it, you will be charged. I'm not sure what the charge is, so we're just gonna pick up the luggage from baggage claim and take it with us...
