Tacos Al Carbon - flour tortillas filled with grilled chicken or beef, peppers, onions, guacamole, and pico de gallo relish $13.25

does anyone know if these are ground beef or beef strips? princess:

I think I asked about this one and it was ground beef.

I haven't eaten at the San Angel Inn, just the cantina, but I lived in Mexico and usually "al carbon" refers to grilled meat where ground beef would be "carne molida". I never saw any ground beef tacos in Mexico though, but at local authentic Mexican restuarants they have them and would not call them al carbon. The food at Cantina San Angel didn't seem particularly authentic to me and did have ground beef in the burritos. :confused3

It is grilled, strips of meat. I had this in December for lunch at San Angel. It was pretty good, but not a large portion. As I recall, there were no rice or beans with this. I was okay but my dh was still hungry! They were tasty, not the best I have had (I live in Colorado and we have a lot of better Mexican) but I would return and order them again since they were decent and I loved the atmosphere of San Angel. They were not spicy at all.

They were strips the last time we asked. Our problem was there weren't that many and we were hungry at that point so we went with something bigger.
