Tacky or not?

I think it's perfectly acceptable, but then again I show up to Hometown Buffet with Tupperware containers.

generally tacky however I know when my mom does it it's purely a mistake, usually because in the store they wrapped it in tissue so nicely and she didn't realize they didn't take the price off. If she ever noticed a tag she high tails it (even in her 70s) to try and nicely snag the gift away and take the price off LOL though sometimes she doesn't notice and laughs along wit everybody else.... Christmas season is the only time it seems to happen for her but she is buying for 7 grandkids, 3 kids and 3 inlaws, my dad plus other nieces... phew!

so I guess my answer is "It depends" :lmao: if it's my Mom no; others yes :lmao::lmao:

I thought everything was done by barcode nowadays. Every birthday present I've had to get for the eighteen million birthday parties my kids have to attend do not have price stickers on them.

The price tag is so small, and you often can't even read the price very well.

I find it's more effective to take a sharpie and write the amount of my very generous gift on the inside of the thoughtful card I include with the present.

Don't forget to circle it with a neon highlighter. :rolleyes1

You know you could buy one of those new cards where you can record your own personalized message and just tell them how much you spent (on the gift AND the card).

I could be wrong but I think the correct etiquette here would be that you need to send a card the day before ANNOUNCING the card with the recording. That first card could explain the amount of time and effort that went into the song choice, and how perfectly it suits the occasion. That way the second card could just be all about the perfect song that explains how much was spent on the gift (said gift, of course, also being perfect).

Well that is a no-brainer Nauf... cause Rob is simply perfect anyway so it would stand to reason that any card (or cards), songs, and/or gifts would be downright fabulous and well... perfect! ;)

Mind you it's not like I care - Just for kicks.

You know, I was out sick yesterday, so catching up on this thread today...makes me SMILE!! :)

tacky tacky tacky!

Quick story: While wrapping gifts at macy's a guy came in to have us wrap ALL his Christmas gifts and told us specifically to leave the price tags on so his poor family could see how much money he has. What a jerk.

In my opinion people who leave the tags on want to make other people feel like crap. Well at least this customer was truthful.

Except he probably bought it all on sale and with a 10 or 20 percent off coupon. And his family most likely knows it. Still, he was a jerk.

A looooonnnnnngggggggg time ago, my grandparents had neighbors that announced out the door so everyone could hear, "The keys to the cadillac on are the color TV." It was so long ago that the COLOR TV was a big deal.

I would imagine they would have left prices on gifts.

New question:
How do you feel about Know-it-alls and Conversational bullies?
Those people who relentlessly force their opinions down others throats -
0r try to pass their "opinions" off as FACT.
