So, I have read on a couple of threads about not wearing a necklace with a halter dress. The dress I have, is a halter dress, and I found a brand new necklace at goodwill, which looks like mickey heads. Now I know a lot of people do not think a necklace looks good with a halter, however, here is my dilemna. I had thyroid cancer and had an eight inch scar created from the front of my neck to the side of my neck up to almost my ear and the necklace almost covers it completely. Now most of my family has not seen my scar. (not that I am ashamed of it but would rather keep it hidden). And since I am doing a private Disney Cruise Line Wedding, I didn't want to have it shown in my pictures. Would it be okay to wear the necklace still? Unfortuanetly makeup does not seem to cover it up. Does anyone have any other suggestions???? If the necklace would not be appropriate.

No way! Wear the necklace. Who cares what other people say. I say the most important thing is that a. it goes with the dress and ensemble and b. you feel beautiful in it and if that means covering the scar then that is what you should do- period!

just on a side note have you tried dermablend? May not be the coverage you are looking for but with the necklace it might work great!

It sounds like the perfect necklace for you - go for it! Sometimes you get an even better look when you bend those fashion rules anyway.

I say go with it! As Lynn said there is no wrong or right. Its all about what makes you feel beautiful. I am sure if you wear the necklace and wear it feeling beautiful everyone will think its beautiful!

In my opinion you can wear what ever makes you happy. I personally was told NOT to wear one during my sister's wedding cause her dresses were halter and they would not look good but that does not mean that I have not worn a necklace with a halter. It is what you like, I actually am wearing a halter to a Quince this weekend and I am wearing a necklace. I will send you a picture so you can see it and I do like it. It actually a prefrence that people have and if it is for you to cover something cause you just want it covered GO FOR IT!! It is your wedding and whatever you do it will be PERFECT

I have tattoos and when I get married if ever I will wear one of those bolero jackets cause It will make me feel good no matter what anyone else says
