I stopped by my Gamestop today and found out that they are selling tablets now. I think this would be cheaper as I wont have to buy a phone plan with a tablet the way I would with a smart phone and dis has free wi fi in the parks.

Does anyone know if any of these would work with the new Ap you need for Fast passes once FP + goes live?

Asus Transfor Pad
Asus ME172
Asus ME 301
Google Nexus 7

You don't have to buy a phone plan with an iPad or iPod Touch, either.

Those are tablets too right?
I'll keep these two in mind - the ones I listed were just the ones that my game stop had available used. Any idea what the cheapest way to pick up an Ipad or Ipad touch might be?

Yes. Used on ebay? New they are around twice the price of the tablets you listed.

I just checked the gamestop website and they sell used ipads.

Once you find out I would spend some more time researching what you would like to do with a tablet. Sure you could get an Ipad but if you don't need one they are more expensive and we LOVE our Google Nexus 7. Android tablets will have way more free apps than Apple as well.

I'm in Canada so I doubt we get the app but I'll go check in the Google Play store and report back:)

i checked the Disney site and it says the app is offered on the Apple App Store, Google Play (?) and the Amazon App store. I'm sure you can look on the tablet info and see where you download apps from to see if it is one of those stores.

As a PP mentioned, you don't need a cell plan to have a Tablet. I have just Wi-Fi and can access free wi-fi in many places, WDW included.

Yes it is available on the Google Play store for the Nexus 7. Just not in Canada:sad2:

All of those tablets are android and would use google play (as far as I know the amazon app store is just google play with a restricted set of aps) but not all google apps run on all android devices. Not sure how you can check. I only knew once I tried to download it. But not a big deal since its on my phone.

Posted from my samsung galaxy tab.

i have a tablet. wat kind i have no idea. i kmow i can not access my disney experience from here.

i do better with my ipod touch. would think a touch will be more convenient carrying around the parks too

Not all tablets are set up to use Google Play. Some apps require google play. Thankfully nearly all tablets can get through to the amazon app store which carries the 'my disney experience' app.

So now you have a few options. One of my favorite options is the $69 7 inchandroid tablet at Big Lots. They also have a tiny android tablet with a 4.3" screen that is about the size of a phone for about $50. The $89 D2 pro they sell there is also very good.

You can buy a refurbed Apple iTouch 4 8GB pretty cheap on eBay much less $ than a tablet or ipad. I think this would be a lot easier to carry in the parks as it would fit easily in a pocket or purse.

Check cow boom.com out, they are Best Buys returns and have a 30 day return no questions asked. Plus they are cheap.

I Thought I found it at amazon but not working just yet. Also, though I have never done it get there is also something called side loading apps.

I found the app on google play but it says it is not supported on my tablet. I have a Google nexus 7.

One issue not brought up, its been reported the wi fi in the parks is pretty spotty. So no matter what you get, without a cellular connection it may not work for what you want to do.
