Tablets/Ipads okay to take on rides?

I have an iPad mini that fits perfectly into my purse. I will be taking it to the parks to check wait times for rides and I figure if they ever roll out fastpass+ I will need it to book/change fast passes. My cell phone is too old and outdated for this purpose.

But I will never use it as a camera or recording device!
 
I can totally see the benefits of a tablet at Disney. It would keep your kids entertained while waiting in all the lines. I wouldn't bring a huge one, but I think one of the smaller ones would be easy to carry and helpful.
 
I've taken my i-pad into the parks for a couple of years now. I keep it in my Rickshaw Ipad messenger bag, and have never had any problems. This year I finally got an iphone, so I'm looking forward to carrying it in the parks instead. It really wasn't too heavy, about the weight of carrying around a magazine. I only occasionally took pictures with it. Mostly I used it to post fun stuff on facebook, check in on foursquare, check attraction wait times, and play games while waiting in lines!
 
Taking mine for sure for the 6 year old! I'm going to be taking my 7 inch tablet instead of my big iPad. I wouldn't want to be carrying one that big.
