I'm torn on which way to go. I have kids ages 7, 10, and 12. DW has a Kindle Fire that the kids like playing with so we thought about getting the kids one for Christmas. But what should we do? Get a cheap knock off for each kid that works off the Google app store? Or buy one new Kindle Fire for roughly the same price and have the kids share it? I like the kids each having their own, but am worried about buying a no name brand.

I would personally say the Kindle Fire. Those knock offs are just underpowered and frustrating.

I'm getting my dd a nabi 2 for Christmas. It's a tablet made specifically for children I bought it at Best Buy on Black Friday normal price $199 but the were price matching it at $120. My dd will be 10 in January. Hope this helps.

I would get an ipad and have them share that rather than cheap knock offs or a fire which is ok but not as good as an ipad. Got my daughter an ipad when she was 11 and its going on its second year now and it is still in perfect condition!
