I have a valid ID and DVC card. I know there were changes made to those buying resale a year or so ago, I’ve owned longer than that. Maybe that’s a change for new resale buyers and I am not aware of those.

Newer resale members have an ID card, too; it’s just “digital” so they have to print it or show it in their phones.

In general with the TIW card, you need to spend about $750 in food an alcohol to break even. Its nice that it also works in many of the lounges. If you have a car, you also get free Valet parking.
If you have an AP, makes things less clear. You already have a 10% discount, so the extra discount with TIW is only 10% plus alcohol. Generally you would need to spend $1200-1500 to break even if you count the AP discount.
In the end, if you are going for 3 weeks, eating at Signature Restaurant, will have drinks with meals or at the lounges, you most likely will come out ahead.
It has made sense for us the last few years. Except for the year they gave 20% with the AP discount.
Yeah that was the last year I bought it in July and the up the discount for AP to 20%in Sept for a year.very unhappy about that. Haven’t bought since. Got burned big time.

i'm resale before the last set of changes. i have the blue plastic card. never had an issue buying it.

You can easily purchase the TiW card because you have a blue membership card (same card direct purchasers get). Those subject to the most recent resale restrictions don't get a physical card and their digital card is white.
