Tell me your experiences with Tables in Wonderland. Worth it, or no?

We are a family of four who come to Disney approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. We eat a table service restaurant once a day. We are AP holders and Florida residents.

Next year, we will most likely be with a group of 6-9 people each trip.

Can we use one Tables in Wonderland card to get a discount for all people at once? One bill or separate?

One bill. One card covers 10 people.

Sounds like you're good candidates for the card.

But given the benefits of the AP right now and the extra discounts, you'll want to take a closer look at if paying for the tiw discount makes sense at this time.

It does cover alcohol at the included restaurants and bars, while the AP discount doesn't. So that's worth pondering as well.

Thanks for your input! Okay, so, if I buy a card and we all go together... and someone else wants to pay with their credit card, can I still show my Tables in Wonderland card for a discount?

Are discounts for pass holders always available for dining? Our first big family trip is in February.

No, they cannot use their credit card. The names have to match.

And no, the discounts, as they are today, will not always be available. It is a special discount for the anniversary.

Cash, yes.

But, exchange the cash after you leave the location or before you walk in.

In other words, don't let them see you exchanging cash.'

The point is, it has to look like you are paying for the meal, which is required for the TiW card.

Sounds great! Thanks! We will most likely take the whole cost of the trip and divide it equally, but just wanted to check. I appreciate it.

ONE payment method (cash, credit card, magic band charged back to the room, gift card, etc), by the card "owner" ONLY. You can settle up later.

18% gratuity is automatic for any size party, so keep that in mind.

The 20% AP discounts at many restaurants throughout WDW are scheduled to end on September 30th of this year, and will go back to the normal discounts (10% at most restaurants). It could be extended, as it already has been once, but don't count on it.

You need to do the math. If you have wine or alcohol with the meal, it pays for itself quickly. Last fall, we used it for a week with a group of 4 and more than covered the cost. I paid for all of the meals (as you must to use the card) and then we settled up after. Worked very easily. My wife and duaghter used it earlier this year and we will use it this fall. For us, it saved a lot of money and well worth the cost. YMMV. We also are AP and DVC members. We used TIW most of the time and the AP discount when that didn't work.

We love the TiW card. We usually are a party of 8-10 and we always save so much money. We used it for 2 weeks last summer and using it again this summer for 2 weeks. Once you spend $750 total on food you have paid for the card (since the card costs $150 now). The card paid for itself after the second meal last year since we were 10 people and ate at several character meals. It was so worth it for us.

Sounds like you are in a similar situation as we are! I think it sounds like its worth it to us.

Yes, and no. If you want to really simplify it, your math is true.

However, AP holders and DVC get at least 10% discounts at many restaurants as well, so if you get the TiW card by either of those "qualifiers", there is some additional math involved to see if it actually pays for itself or not.

Perhaps that is the letter of the law, but, in out most recent trip last month was able to split bill with BiL at both Ohana and Biergarten. Italy wouldnt allow it : )
