I was just wondering if anyone here has tried the 'new' Tables in Wonderland dinning option for annual passholders or Florida residents... I was interested in doing it but i was curious, does the 20% discount apply on alcoholic beverages too? it says you have to be 21 to join, so maybe yes?.... also - does the 20% off apply to the entire meal, or just what ever the 'holder' orders?? I'm an annual passholder and i'm going down in March, and would definitely buy it if both applied, but the person i'm going with isn't a passholder, and if it doesn't apply on booze i'm not sure you could make up the $75 cost of joining....

It's not new, it's been around for years. Only the name change is relatively recent. It used to be called the Disney Dining Experience. The name was probably changed because it was getting confused with the Disney Dining Plans.

The discount applies to the entire meal at a participating restaurant, including alcoholic beverages - if it's all on one check. If you split the checks, only the cardholder gets the discount. There'll also be an automatic 18% tip added to all bills at table service and bars/lounges to which the TIW discount is applied.

We have used the card.
The 20% off is for the entire bill. I think you do have to be 21, not 100% sure. The T in W card can be used for up to 10 total guest, not a bad deal. They do add an 18% auto tip on the actual amount, the tax is charged on the discounted amount so you save there as well. It is also good at the Values CS and no gratuity there, so a good deal if staying at one of the Values. There is a list on WDW site of all TS and well as the CS (a few in AK as well) also the bars/;ounges in the resorts.

Thanks for the info - definitley think I'm going to invest in one now..... :cool1:

Yes, I think we will get one in Feb. Four of us are going and I will be getting a new AP. Although the price went up (used to be $60), it will most likely pay off by the 2 nd trip!! Have Fun.

We got one in October, and almost paid for the card. We're going back with our family of 8 in February, and everything we save will be gravy.

Just a question, are they still good for 13 months? That's how it was when I purchased ours in mid May of 2008. It was good through June 2009!!

I was led to believe that that was just the way things tended to work out -- it did work out that way for me.

Thanks. Yes I think you used to have to purchase the T in W only by mail and that was the reason for the extra time. Now you can purchase it at Guest Relations. It's good they kept the extra time!!

We got one at Guest Relations in DD early in October. We used it then, will use it in May, and yet again in late September!!
We purchased on 10/3/09 and the card is good thru 10/31/10

Mine was purchased August 29 '09 at Epcot Guest Services and is good until September 29 '10.

Do I need to be a current AP to have my TW card work? My pass expired and my TW care is good until March.

Thanks.

If you currently have a TIW then ues it should work until it's expired.

We love TIW - it paid for it's self in just a few dinners for us! :thumbsup2 I use it in the lounges too!

Definitely check you bill though, we used the TIW card in Sept at several restaurants and none of them added the 18% (we were only a party of 3, not sure if that was the difference). So just check so you don't stiff the server :thumbsup2

Here is a working example, using $100.00 as the original bill to make the math show up easily.

100.00 - Original Amount
20.00 - Discount
80.00 - Subtotal
18.00 - Gratuity Added based on $100
5.20 - Sales Tax on $80
103.20 - Final amount charged, takes into consideration discount, gratuity and tax.

The party size is not the difference - they are supposed to add the tip to the bill of ANY Tables in Wonderland user regardless of party size. I think sometimes the servers forget to hit the key that adds the gratuity onto the bill, so always check your receipts.

We love the TiW card. For the way we eat, it just works so much better than the dining plan. We like to split entrees, but order a bottle of wine or each have cocktails. We may want an appetizer for the table and no dessert. Or maybe split a dessert. It just gives so much flexibility.

Plus, as the PP said, you can use it at the counter service restaurants at hotels where there is no table service...this means the values, of course, but also POFQ. You can also use it at Cinderella's Royal Table, but it does require the server to credit your credit card back the difference, since that is a prepaid meal. You also get free valet parking at the resorts. Just bring your dinner receipt to the valet afterwards.

The following counter service restaurants accept TIW:

Animal Kingdom Park:
Flame Tree BBQ
Pizzafari
Restaurantosaurus

Saratoga Springs Resort: Artist's Palette

Port Orleans Resort food court

All-Star Resorts food courts

Pop Century Resort food court
