Has anyone ever purchased the discount pass? Not sure whether to choose that route...thinking of getting an AP and then purchasing the pass. Feedback, pros and cons would be greatly appreciated!:cool1:

We have it. The cost for AP holders is $60, that means once you spend $300 you break even. You can use it in many TS locations as well as CS at the Values and some locations in AK. It is good on alcohol as well. You just have to kind of figure where you want to eat, see how much you will save and decide if it's worth it. They do add an 18% tip after the 20% reduction. It is good for slightly greater than a year. (ours was purchased 5/18/08 and it's good through 6/30/09) It is also good for up to 10 persons as long as the HOLDER of the card is present. They did ask me for ID a few times during our past visit.

is the pass good at the kiosks throughout the parks also? Snacks and beverages or just table service and counter service meals? Do you have to be a premium pass holder or just reg. ap holder?:confused3

The card is mainly for TS and not all of them. There is a list. The kiosks are not included, in fact I believe only the CS I spoke of are besides the TS places. You can get the card with either AP.

We've decided to try it that way also. AP is good for QS--I think--with TIW for TS. I figure both are worth trying for a year. Yet another reason to visit the Mouse.:yay: :yay:

Just table service meals, and counter service in the value resorts only (because they do not have sitdown restaurants).

We have it, had it for years. We don't usually eat counter service, so for us, it pays for itself within the first couple meals, lol.

We have it for all of our trips. We are going in January and I have to get a new one for this year. If you do alot of TS I think it is worth it. We usually do a TS every nite. You can also use it at the afternoon tea at the GF, and you can use it for drinks with your meals. We like appetizers with our meals and this way it seems better than the DDP. We like to sometimes get dessert, but we also like to get something later at the bakery from France, or Norway, or at the Bake Shop on Main Street, so the DDP would not be for us.

We have purchased it every year since it has been available to AP holders. Great deal! With a family of five -- all adults by WDW standards -- two dinners and we have gotten our investment back.

We have it too. The good news is.... you only need to spend $300 in food to pay for the card. The bad news is.... it only took us a day & 1/2 to spend that much. :sad2:

If you're staying onsite, the DDP may be a better deal for you. You really need to choose where you want to eat then decide which way to go. We personally don't like CS meals, so TIW allows us to eat a TS lunch for not much more than a CS meal. OTOH, we spend more at TS dinners than we would, if we had purchased DDP. Also, if you eat CS for many/ most of your meals, TIW probably wouldn't be worth it for you.

There are some TS places in AK that qualify. Here let me find the link to the full list.... http://allears.net/din/dde.htm

We love using this card. We love that alcohol qualifies for the discount. I highly recommend it.

be advised that if you lose your TIW card or forget to bring it with you, there's a $25 fee for reissuing the card.

Used to be they would give you a temporary but that is no longer the case.

And it isn't just counter service at the value resorts. The TIW is also good for counter service at POFQ, SSR and the AK park (with the exception of the Yak & Yeti counter service).

we have had it for a couple of years and can usually get it so it covers both annual visits...also, the AP will give you 10% at places the DDE may not be accepted (example - yak and yeti do not take the DDE but will give you 10% with your AP pass
we think it is worth the 60.00 (especially since it includes alcohol:thumbsup2)

Make sure you have a picture ID with you when using the card. They have gotten much stricter with the TIW. In September, I needed to show a picture ID almost everywhere I used the card. They would not even accept my KTTK. They said that too many people have been loaning their cards out or even renting them out, so they are stricter now and enforcing the rules.

They must have just had a meeting on the issue, when you were there. ;) We used it last week, & I wasn't asked for ID once. As a matter of fact, the TIW card is in my name & my DH paid for our meals. (I go with family more often than he does.) We do have the same last name, but they never questioned us once. We had 2 TS meals a day. It is a good idea to have picture ID just in case though.

I had to show ID as well a few weeks ago only at TS restaurants. I did have another problem with the card though. It turns out that when I purchased it in May, the CM accidently put the expiration date as June 30, 2008!! I never noticed it and had no problems then. When we tried to use it in Mexico in Sept, they said it was expired!! It ended up being an issue and I was embarrassed. I had to go to Guest Services and get a new one and when I told the CM what happened, she just shrugged it off like no big deal. I guess I should have noticed but just didn't. There should also be a way to check the card for its true expiration date as well.

We love the plan......we get it every year....Pro is we can stay at Pop Century, All Star Movies, Port Orleans French Quarter and use it for our breakfast at the food court..(20 PERCENT OFF)...our snacks there or if we want to eat a meal for lunch or supper .....ALso can use it at the lounges in alot of places....we saved enough to make it worth our while....it adds up when you go to the restaurants that use it too......we have saved going to Crystal Palace, LE Cellier, and Biergarten.....those were the only places we got reservations last May.....we couldnt use it on a major holiday like Mothers Day or for the Fantasmic Pkg......

yes it is worth it
