Hi everyone,

I have been doing research for my upcoming trip and YIKES! I am worried about using TIW. We just moved to FLA and just received our card yesterday. We are excited to use it in a few days. However, here's my problem ...

I don't have a FLA driver's license yet! I have read a few posts about some restaurants asking for ID when we present TIW. Will they insist on a FLA driver's license? I have plenty of ID to prove who I am, including my old DL, but won't have time to get the new FLA license before we go to the world.

TIA!:goodvibes

I don't think you will. AP holders can get the card as well and they can be from anyplace.

That's assuming she has an annual pass.

The worst that can happen is you have to pay full price for the meal without proper ID.

Thanks! I was worried because I think it says "Florida Resident" on the card.

I didn't realize that the FL resident cards say that. Do you have anything with your new address yet to use as proof of residency? How did you get the card itself without any proof? For me to purchase the card, I had to show my AP plus ID.

I would think that if you have a Fl resident TiW card, you had to prove you are a Fl resident..right? I have had a DDE aka TiW card for years now. Only two times have I been asked for an ID. Both times were at the POP food court. They wanted to see my license...for a $12 bill!! I told them I had my room key..nope, not good enough. I could have found a wallet with the room key and DDE card in it. Ah, no....I don't head to the food court for breakfast with my drivers license in hand!! Both times they let it go...I think they figured I made sense!!
But, at all table service restaurants, I have never had to show anything other than the dining card itself.
If it makes you feel better, bring whatever you had to prove residency.

I did have to show ID a few weeks ago in Mexico. There wasn't much of a bill either - a few drinks and 1 dinner. The rest of us were on DDP.

Sure I do. I have credit card statement, a couple of utility bills. Don't have my voter registration card yet.

When I called in I just gave them the address that matched where my credit card bills go to, which is also my mailing address. My card arrived at my house, which is my mailing address.

I would just bring one of them and hope for the best. I honestly don't think you will have a problem. The utlility bills are probably the best since you wouldn't have those if you didn't live there. You could always go and get one of the FL resident cards that FL supposedly offers. (some used to get them in order to get the discount tickets at WDW from what I've heard.)
