Tables in wonderland card? Worth it?

TIW worked great for my family. I like being able to choose a discounted appetizer and adult beverage!:woohoo:

For us it is totally worth it...we go many times throughout the year and have alot of TS meals...not to mention the bars we frequent!

ITA. It pays for itself pretty quickly, especially after NASA is done calculating our bar tab for the evening........

I just got back 3 days ago from using the TIW for the first time. We ended up saving a little under $90 on our meals so we have already come out ahead. We ate at the Spirit of Aloha, Biergarten, and California Grille. As others stated, alcohol is definitely included. I have heard "complaints" that you are not really saving money since the tip is already included. I say you need to compare oranges to oranges and if you usually tip at least 18% anyway you are still saving the 20%. Well worth it in my opinion.

Back to my question about the 2nd card.... Here's our situation. We go as a party of 10 (My parents, My sister's family of 4, and my family of 4). We often eat as a group, and Grandpa pays :thumbsup2. He's thinking maybe he should get an annual pass and the TIW card just to get the dining discount. It would definitely be worth it for him. Could he buy the 2nd card for $50, and put that in my name or my sister's name for when we split up? My parents would always be together, so it wouldn't make sense for my mom to be the 2nd cardholder, but I'm not sure they would allow someone other than a spouse to use the 2nd card. Does anyone know the answer to this?

It's my understanding that the second card has to be for a spouse or partner but you might want to check with TIW on that. Way back when they were free I was able to get my mother one.

Lones,

I have never encountered a situation where they have refused a TIW card becasue the person paying was not the card holder nor have I ever seen a CM ask for ID to verify that the individual on the card is at the table, so I don't think it would be a problem if the 2nd card was issued to your mom, but you used it. Also, it could not forsee an issue if you got the original card and your dad was the one paying.

Thanks for the responses! One more question that someone else touched on a little..... The 18% gratuity is obviously not an issue at all, we would have tipped at least that much anyway at a table service restaurant. I am curious though, what happens when you use it at the resort food courts. I can't imagine they would add a gratuity to your food court meal.... but you never know. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks again!! Sorry for all the questions!
