Table Service restaurants that serve fries?

It appears, from the menus I've looked at, that the majority of TS restaurants at Disney serve everything with mashed potato. Now, sorry if I'm something of a heathen but I am really not a fan of mashed potato and, whenever, I HAVE had it in the US it is made with buttermilk, I think and tastes very different from here in England. Neither DH nor I like it but we would really love to try some of the Disney TS places. So, are there any places we could get either fries or a jacket potato with our meal, instead of mashed potato?

I'm sure you could ask to substitute a different side that may be offered in another meal.

FYI - I've never hard of buttermilk being used in mashed potatoes. I'm sure some places do use it but it's not a very common thing to use. You'll see a lot of cream, milk, cream cheese, butter etc but rarely buttermilk. You must have just been unlucky to have eaten in a few places that do use it

You can get fish & chips at the Rose & Crown in England. Also, if a place you like serves fries with kids meals (as most do), they have no issue substituting. Many places will switch a Baked potato from mashed, as many people have lactose intolerance. If you have a specific meal that you want with a baked/jacket potato, then just call the restaurant a few hours before, and you'll usually be able to get one made for your ressie (they have whole potatoes...just need the order put in to have one washed and put in the oven, as a slow cooked baked potato takes about an hour...)

you can get fries at the sci-fi dine in, or planet hollywood. Not very high class places, but if you're looking to eat with a real knife and fork, and for somone to bring in to your table, then these are the best.

After checking Deb's website and seeing that Chef's de France has fries, I also many restaurants offer roasted potatoes on some entrees while other entrees offer mashed potatoes. If your entree that you are interested in has mashed potatoes but another entree has roasted potatoes, just ask for them to substitute the roasted potatoes for the mashed.

I also noticed that many of the child's menus have fries listed but the adult menus don't. I am sure they would be willing to substitute fries for mashed in this case also.
