Table Service Rec around Monorail Loop/MK

My ADR window opens tomorrow and I’m having a hard time deciding on one last table service dinner. We’ll be at HS during the day but would like to eat dinner somewhere near the Contemporary/Monorail/MK where we’re staying since we’ll more than likely park hop to MK that night. We’re already planning on Ohana, Chef Mickey, Wave, Teppan Edo and Via Napoli.

My daughter is 12 so character meals are fine, but not necessary. We’d thought about Artist Pointe and heard the characters were fun but food wasn’t that good. Also thought of BOG. We’ve been there for lunch & dinner previous trips, but now that it’s Signature dining, we don’t want to burn two meal credits.

We’ve done 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon Cafe in the past and would like to try something new.

Am I missing or overlooking any table service restaurants?

California Grille!!! One of our favs; stunning views of MK/fireworks and the food is phenomenal. I have always ordered sushi and my wife gets steak or tries something new. Their menu has nice range and the atmosphere is one of the best in WDW.

Edit: we don’t do the dining plan and just checked that Cali is signature: still excellent!

There are lots of same day/next day availability. If you dont want to book and aren’t fussy, lots open up when folks cancel.

California Grill is the best restaurant on the monorail loop. A less expensive choice is The Wave or even Grand Floridian Cafe.

You have picked out some awesome places so far.

We went to the Wave for an extended family dinner once. We were so surprised! It was super yummy and we had great service! We regret not trying it earlier.

Somewhere we haven't tried, but we would like to is the Kona Cafe.
Maybe you could try it out...

It seems like you have already picked or previously eaten at just about every option around the monorail loop that isn't a signature.

Have you considered doing lunch or an early dinner at MGM or in that area? Inside the park we like both 50's Prime Time and SciFi. For any early dinner outside the park you could catch the boat to the Yacht and Beach Club and try Ale and Compass. We haven't done dinner there but breakfast was great. We aren't big buffet fans, but Cape May could also be an option.

Or go to MK for dinner. We are big fans of Skippers Canteen

Yes! We’ve been to WDW 6 times and stayed at Contemporary every time and just discovered Waves on our last visit. We loved it and couldn’t believe we hadn’t tried it until then. 😊

We’ll have to look into Kona Cafe. I always thought it was quick service for some reason - either that, or we just overlooked it because we always do Ohana.

California Grill would be my first choice.
Narcoossees or Citricos would be next.
The wave also is a good choice.
