Our party of seven (4 adults and 3 children ages 6, 4, and 2) may be seated at separate tables at several restaurants. The CM told me to try arriving up to 30 minutes early to ask if we could be seated together. Has anyone had any luck with this? Can someone who has been seated at separate tables tell me about their experience? Would it be better to look for a restaurant that can accommodate all of us at one table?

The restaurants that we have been told that we may be seated at separate tables are:

Plaza Restaurant
San Angel Inn
Teppan Edo
Sci-Fi Dine In
Kona Cafe
CRT
Coral Reef

We were told that too...5 Adults and 2 children (14 and 9) at:

Mama Melrose
Kona
Plaza

We have had bigger parties than that an all sat together.. don't know why it has changed. The cm said he also tried putting in 6 and it came up the same?

I was booked for a party of 8, and at 7 of our 9 restaurants they said we were booked for 2 tables.
None of them even asked us to sit apart. We checked in as a party of 8 and were led to a large table each time.
At Coral Reef we waited quite a while for a table, we thought it was because of our large group...but it turned out that they were severely overbooked. Everyone was waiting 45+ minutes that night.

Enjoy your trip! :grouphug:

We have also been told we would be at seperate tables. We have never been put at diffrent tables.

Thanks..that's a relief..either that or they will have a table for just kids LOL!

This is very encouraging information. We'll make the best of the situation, whatever it is, but it would be nice to sit together. Thanks!

I was wondering about this too. We have a group of 9. I did phone reservations yesterday and believe our group is together, but today when I was doing online ressies I did see some time options come up that said we may be separated. The confusing thing is, I can put 2 different times in my cart--one that has the separate table disclaimer and one that doesn't, and once it's in my cart it doesn't say anything about which is which...

I didn't realize when I made my reservations (with a CM over the phone) that we were at separate tables. When I called back last night to check one of my confirmation numbers, the CM told me that we were at separate tables. I was aware that it was a possibility because of what I had seen with the online system, but I didn't realize that we were in fact at separate tables. The CM that I talked to last night said that the largest table at most restaurants is a six-top.

It has happened to us at CRT several times, party of 7. Drives me nuts b/c I only get to sit with half of my kids. Also, LTT gave us a hard time about dinner one night for the four of us. This was about 6 years ago. I guess we had been booked at two tables of two, which I did not realize at all. They did sit us at one table for four, though. The person who checked us in acted like we had asked for the world. Oh well.

Oh yeah. Meant to also add that when we went in May of 08 as a party of 6 ( just our family) we did have only one table, so seems the cutoff may be between 6 and 7 for one table vs. two.

I was playing around with the ADRs last night and one rest said we may be seated seperately..party of 4. Not sure but I think it was Mama Melrose's.

I made three ressies yesterday for a party of 7 with two different CMs and not one said anything to me:

California Grill for dinner
Raglan Road for dinner
Cape May Cafe for dinner

We really are considered all adults but my children are 16 and 11. I guess I will have to call and ask, is this correct? Thanks.

:confused3

Maybe that's something new.
For the last three years, our party of 11 has always been at the same table. Even at CRT.

If you would like to know, I would call. I was not told anything when I initially made the reservation. I didn't ask about it when I spoke with the second CM. She just happened to mention it to me.

I think that they do their best to accommodate large parties and to seat them together. The first time we ate at CRT we were a party of 7. I didn't know that our reservation might have been for separate tables. I never thought anything of it. We were seated together. I hope that we have the same good luck that you've had when we visit in March. :goodvibes

The SciFi Dine In tables only seat 6 but the 2 year old can probably share a seat with someone. We did that with our 19 month old or you can have a high chair at the side of your "car". I would mention it to them when you check into the restaurant.

Thank you. I definitely will ask for a car when we check in. We would be more than willing to let her sit between us...if the restaurant will allow it.

We used to always go with my sister's family of five, so we were 7 altogether. When I made the ADRs, they often told me that we would be seated at two tables, but I really can't remember ever be separated. The problem we did have is that we were almost always seated at a table for six with a chair shoved onto one end. When the kids were little, it wasn't too bad, but as they grew to be teenagers, it was often tight. Not ideal, but we lived with it. You should be fine since your little one is so young.
