Table for 6 becomes 5

What happens if that happens? I have booked all my ADR's as 6, but we might be losing someone, but won't know until we get closer. As our reservations span over New Years, I didn't want to wait until I knew for sure whether we are 5 or 6. However, now I wonder if they will let me cancel the extra person?

Our reservations so far:
12/31 - Tokyo Dining
01/01 - California Grill
01/02 - Les Chefs de France
01/03 - Mama Melrose

Can anyone advise?

Thanks!

That happened to us too, except we went from a party of 11 to a party of 7 the day our trip began due to a death in the family. I called the dining line that night and explained the situation and they said they'd have to cancel our ressies and rebook them with the new number, however because 7 is an odd number, none were available. I asked what would happen if we showed up with the lesser number and the CM said, "you'll get seated". Just to make sure I understood, "So you're telling me I should not cancel my reservations all for 11 people and just show up with 7?" She said, "Yes, definitely. If you cancel, you're not likely to get anything close to what you had, if anything at all."

We showed up at every single restaurant with the reduced amount with no trouble.

It sucks, though. I wanted *so badly* to make something positive out of this and free up a table for four at some great restaurants, last minute, and make someone's day. It just wasn't possible, though.

It won't make a difference because they almost always book a party of five at a table for 6 anyways because I believe all tables are even-numbered ones and they will seat an odd numbered party at the next highest even number table. At least this has been my experience of a half-dozen trips with a group of 5. :thumbsup2

No problem at all except possibly at California Grill. They do charge you credit card if you don't show up so I am not sure what they would do if you showed up with one less person. I would suggest calling Disney Dining and asking. If you do cancel CG it has to be 48 hours in advance.

In regards to CG I dont think you will have a problem. Worst case you tell them the one person was not feeling well and decided to skip dinner, I really dont think there going to charge your for having less. The CC deposit is to ensure you show up for dinner and don't skip out on it last min.

We just returned from the world about 2 weeks ago. I made all of our ADR's for 8, however at the last minute my father decided to cancel. For non credit card guarantees I just told the hostess that we were a party of 7 instead of 8. They didn't even blink an eye. For our CG and Hollywood Brown Derby Fantasmic Package, I just called about 48 hours in advance to let them know of the change so we didn't get charged on our credit card.

I will even tell you that ALL of our reservations were under my father's name. I was nervous that a server or hostess would notice that none of our meal plans included his last name, but no one questioned us.

Good luck!

We thought too that all tables were even # (so if you booked 3 you would sit at 4) However, our last trip we had tables of 3 in most cases for our dining some we would have been able to sit 4-benches, but most were tables set with 3, against a wall -off hand I remember Ohana's
