table centre pieces

I know this is a very straight forward question, but I am not with any of my contract/paperwork at the minute so cant find the answer myself....Can I arrange my own centre pieces and have disney set them up for me?

We were told no ! They said that we had to use disney b/c they figure a certain amount of employees to set things up and being responsible for your product isn't something they figure in. We were then told if we wanted to do that then depending on where the reception was (as long as it wasn't in park) we can designate someone to set them up from our party but that would pull them away from everything else! I was under the impression that you could, but they would charge you a set up fee for anything over 3 things that they have to set up (this includes, place cards, favors etc).

In the past Disney has had no problem with this, and many people on these boards have brought their own centerpieces. Also, you are still allowed to use outside vendors for floral at non-park venues, which would mean someone besides Disney setting them up, so I'm not sure why bridetobe789 was told she couldn't... unless her reception is inside one of the parks.

Disney charges $35 an hour to set up more than 3 items at each place setting (like if you wanted them to put out a favor, a place card and a disposable camera at each seat). I can't see it taking them more than an hour to put out some centerpieces. I can see why they would prefer you to buy centerpieces through them, though!

As Carrie mentioned Disney should be ok with this for the charge she mentioned (if your recpetion is not in park). Sometimes information gets crossed on Dftw's side so if this something you want to do i say press the isue! good luck.

ooh that good news, I had wanted to do my own table pieces at the dessert party but have been told no such a shame as my idea was something disney just cant do!(and a quater of the price!!)
