Where are my peeps who love this show? I find Tabatha to be hilarious!

 LOVE this show! She is awesome. I loved the one at the beginning of this season where she had a "sleepover" with the sisters that owned the salon and put on her cute pajamas and when they were shocked said something like "Well, you didn't think I wore black all the time did you?" :rotfl:

I haven't watched this season but have watched previously. I am not surprised that most of these businesses are in such financial trouble. They don't even seem to follow basic business rules (I have never owned my own business). DUH! So if you call Tabetha and she critiques you/your business, don't cry and moan; you called her and she WILL help you if you follow her suggestions! Some of those salons are downright filthy and disgusting too...ugh! But I love the show because she tells it like it is!

I watch her every week. Loved her on Shear Genius (thought she should have won) and enjoy her now. The salons are crazy but sadly not far-fetched to what it can be like. :(

I watch it on occasion (I don't make an effort, but if I happen to be watching TV I'll watch it), but I like it because the fact of the matter is, most of these people have ZERO business knowledge. Just because you can cut hair doesn't mean you should open your own business.

Watch it faithfully and DVR it too just in case. Tough and talented....her words!! I love the employees reactions when she walks into the salons. They all become speechless and stop breathing! :thumbsup2

I'm a hairstylist and own my own salon, and I L.O.V.E. Tabitha!!!!! The sight of some of those salons makes me gag! I'm obsessive about cleaning my brushes etc, and the floors get swept after every customer!

I also love seeing her demonstrate new techniques etc...it's kind of like a mini-seminar for me to update my skills from the comfort of my comfy recliner next to my woodstove!;)

There was one episode where she tore down a wall in the salon, and then set the colour station chairs around round tables, with mags etc on the table...I just WISH I had room to do that in my tiny salon!:thumbsup2

I just recently found this show (never even heard of it before last month and never heard of or watched Shear Genius.) I have no interest in hair, beauty, fashion, etc. I LOVE this show and love Tabatha. I love that she's such a b**** but in the end everyone (other than the lazy slackers she exposes who all eventually quit or are fired) loves her. She's incredibly blunt, but at the same time really cares. I wish someone similar could take over and fix my workplace!

This is true. The first shop owner I worked for (actually the only one until I opened up myself--alone) had no business knowledge but she married a college graduate with a degree in business. He came in and tried to run the salon as he learned and that didn't work out perfectly either, lol. A salon is different--I have no idea why, but it is...maybe it is the egos and the drama and the skill levels you have to work with. :confused3 Maybe it is because the stylists can walk away so easily and quickly. :confused3 I'm not sure but after working in a high end salon, I knew I no longer wanted to own one myself, THAT was for sure!

My ex-boss had to ask her DH to step away and she's still going strong 28 yrs later so I guess she figured it out as best as anyone can. It was nothing like those salons Tabitha goes into! Ugh!!:scared1: For the most part, she ran a tight ship. :)

My first job as a hairstylist, my boss was in actual fact a bus driver for the City of Toronto! Zero business sense, and thought he knew as much about chemical processes as we did, b/c he had read the boxes product came in!!:scared1:

I can't even count the times we actually had to tell our clients he was nuts in order to do what their hair actually NEEDED, not what he had informed them they needed as they waited for their appointment!:sad2:

I was actually glad when I was laid-off b/c the business was failing! I think he went bankrupt about 4 months later....

Love this show! I think Tabitha is awesome. I do wonder if some of these people just do it for the renovation though, some dont seem to want to change at all.

The husband and wife team, she was pregnant, she was mean to the staff, he said he would step into the management role blah blah then when Tabitha came back, she hadnt changed anything and even complained about the fridge Tabitha put in the salon.

And the guy from MA, who was into schtick as T called it, I really dont think he had any intention of changing his ways but got his makeover.

I swear I wanted to slap that wife! Well and the husband too for letting her act like that. I agree that she seemed to just be in it for the makeover.

The other guy (and I think somewhat the husband wife) I think just wanted to blame it on everyone else and I think they really thought they were not the problem and were shocked when Tabitha said they needed to change. They just thought she would come in and say they were doing everything right it was just the stylists and the area and the economy and blah blah blah. If your not willing to hear the whole truth and change then it isn't going to happen. Too bad, the MA guy could really have had a great salon and a retirement with his partner and he is just too full of the shtick to let it go.

I love this show too! Tabatha is awesome! I DVR it so I never miss an episode!
