I'm not sure what one has to do with the other. Other than breakfast, concierge doesn't serve meals (although the snacks at Poly could almost pass for a meal). The dining plan is new to me so I'm not sure what it all includes.

Has anyone stayed concierge and gotten the dining plan?

We always stay CL and never get the dining plan. I have also been told the same as you by CM's at WDTC.

We only have breakfast at CL. We may grab a snack of a cookie and lemonade going back to the room in the afternoon. Before dinner we do not have any of the food, BUT we do have a glass of wine...maybe a nibble of veggies (don't want to spoil my dinner! After dinner we may get a cordial and a dessert - Maybe..it depends on if we have dessert at dinner.

So for us it does not make any sense to pay for a dining plan. Our dinners are at all signature restaurants, and V&A's. For lunch sometimes we just have a nosh- EPCOT, sometimes we do TS-MGM Brown Derby, or sometimes we don't have lunch at all because we had a late breakfast so a snack like a peice of fruit will hold us until dinner. I think lots of our points or whatever they are called would go unused.

So if you are anything like we are, it is too much. I don't mind spending money, but I don't like wasting money. It's just a matter of choice.

I would not get the dining plan if I were staying concierge. It would simply be too much food. If you plan to use the concierge services, then you do not need a big meal at night. We used the afternoon offerings as 'appetizers', and could not think about sitting down to a big meal after that. We usually had something light or used counter service. Of course, if you skip the appetizers, you would want a big meal...but then why choose concierge? Anyway, I agree with your TA. :)

well, we are staying at the Poly in December. We have purchased the dining plan and are staying concierge.

I know we'll use the morning offerings, and I hope to enjoy a glass of wine or an evening cordial.

I am having the itinerary planners make all of our PS's. I imagine we'll also change a few, even once we're there, and expect that concierge will be able to help.

We have three kids, and are looking forward to the extra space that the lounge offers.

I do not see the dining plan and concierge as mutually exclusive.

At the end of Sept we'll be staying concierge at CR on the 14th floor and we got the dining plan. There was no discount available on our room but the dining plan was free. We don't use concierge for meals except for our breakfast.

We just got home yesterday from the POLY GVC with dining plan...sniff sniff!!

It was so great to have BOTH. I will just say that this is how we seem to operate but it is just our family and our opinion!!

We would have a quick bite at the concierge lounge for breakfast between 7:30-8:00am. It was fine to have a cup of coffee, bagel, croissant, fruit--melon and grapes, danish. My kids drank hot chocolate/milk with cereal and a banana. But honestly- after 6 mornings of the same stuff we were getting a little sick of it.

My kids were always hungry again by about 10-11am...me too :teeth: and it was great to use a couple of CS coupons to have a snack. We used a couple of TS coupons for lunch one day but the rest of our lunches were CS.

We were always back at our resort for a swim/nap and a few cookies/soda and gummy worms between 2-4pm. BUT we were always heading back out to a different park between 4:30-5pm for the evening. Therefore, we never were at the concierge lounge between 5-7 when they served appetizers. (We did hear one family telling their kids they had to wait to eat until 5pm when the food came out and then to eat a lot because there would be no more food for the whole evening :guilty: )

Only 2 nights did we make it back to have a dessert or a glass of wine before 10pm.

We loved the concierge lounge and would definitely go concierge again. But it was not for the food offerings and we loved the dining plan because we could eat at lots of different places that we normally wouldn't eat. We used our snack credits for water bottles/popcorn/Mickey bars. Our TS credits were used at Chef Mickey, CRT, Ohana, Boma, LeCellier, Sci-Fi.....It was fantastic and I see no reason why staying concierge would exclude the dining plan. They are both great!!!!!

We did the same thing at the BWI concierge in August. We had breakfast in the morning, grabbed a snack in the afternoon, were only actually there twice for evening appetizers, only had some once, and had wine and sometimes dessert in the evening. We would use our counter service meals at lunch and have a sit down dinner in the evening. We are planning on doing the same thing in December when we have the kiddos along.

We are staying CL in Jan, and have purchased the dining plan. We are planning to use the breakfast items in the morning prior to visiting the parks, and would like to have a cordial or glass of wine in the evening. We will eat nice meals and use the lounge as an extra treat when we are back at the lodge. At home I am the person who pampers my family, and on a rare vacation, I am anticipating a little pampering.

We are staying four nights in Dec. and are doing both. We are using our TS credits for signature restaurants. It is inconvenient to come back to the resort just for nightly appetizers. The snacks provided around 12:00 is hardly considered lunch.

I do feel that we will have a tremendous amount of food. We will not get all of our appetizers or desserts if we are too full. I don't feel that we will have a lot of credits left over especially with 3 children. The dining plan will save us money because we always eat at different WDW resorts not just the concierge lounge.
