TA or no?

Hi everyone,

I too always booked my past trip to Disney myself since I felt I always knew more about Disney than the agent did!!! That is, until I myself became an agent! I have always loved all things Disney and have been to wdw over a dozen times and Disneyland many times as well! If anyone is in need of someone to plan their trip out with no cost to them (and give this stay at home mom to a newborn some business) please consider using my services! You can pm me your info or email me directly at travel@kkaway.com. My hubby and I are going to wdw again in early August for our last "alone" trip and to plan out our next trip with our baby boy-I can't wait to share the magic with him! Oh and by the way, I am also "officially" trained through Disney as a graduate of the College of Knowledge and have earned my "ears"-how cute is that name? :)
Thanks for listening!

Just a heads up. These type of posts aren't allowed. You will get in trouble with the moderators.

Well thank you for warning me!! :) I love this forum too much to have them ban me or something like that!

Not sure why you are confused?!?? Loved booking my own trips so much and became so good and well versed in both Disney and various other destinations that it is a pleasure to help others.

I totally get where you are coming from. LOL! I'm so good at finding deals that most of my friends come to me for advice. I enjoy doing it, but my TA is the best thing that I've ever done.

I think for TA's they enjoy booking other people's trips and they take a lot of the hassles out of it.

;)

I say good for you and I hope that you have much success doing what you enjoy. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the support and UNDERSTANDING :) I knew there were some great Disney fans out there that wouldn't be confused.

I have never used a TA for a Disney trip. For me, I don't see any value added and I'm too controlling to give up my reservation :lmao:. For example, if I get a PIN code, I want to call immediately to apply it to my ressie, not call my TA, wait for them to call Disney and then wait for them to call me back.

I'm not confused, I just think it's pretty hypocritical that you expect others who enjoy planning their trips to book through a TA even though you didn't follow this yourself. You totally missed the point :rolleyes2

Hmmm, are you sure you are on the right board? This is for DISNEY fans and you honestly don't sound like one. You seem to be very focused on attacking more than sharing fun information about Disney. Everyone else here seemed to "get" what I'm saying so roll your eyes all you want but perhaps instead you should open them and be open to what people have to say and share. Don't bother responding because this is my last response to you-I have better things to do and Disney vacations to plan :)

My last 3 trips I planned myself. I love planning for Disney! With that said for our next trip I used AAA which gave me roughly a 15% discount off our room. I linked my reservation number through the Disney website and have all my information on there including when I can make ADRs. So I still feel completely in charge. I guess I'm wondering what am I not able to do this time around by using AAA. Make payments? Not a big deal to me and if no discounts come out through Disney at least I have the 15% from AAA.

I just joined this forum and I'm really surprised at the attack on a fellow Dis Board member. It's extremely scary how bitter and angry someone could be . Especially on a Disney forum! If people like you are going to be like this on the forum, I'm never coming on this. Very disappointing.

Not everyone is like this. Please don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Some people just come across wrong. It's hard to get a good feel for people on a online message board.

My first few trips I used a TA, now I book everything myself. I'm an impatient person when it comes to booking my trips. I like to get it done..it just feels more real once it's booked.

TAs can be great if you get a knowledgeable one. Most people here should count as honorary TAs,lol.

Wow. That's really harsh. :confused3 That's kind of nasty and just a little bit rude. You totally missed the point. She isn't "expecting" anyone to book a trip with her. It's not like she has banners and blings everywhere advertising her TA. She simply made a comment and gave someone another option. That's what this forum is all about. Options.

I enjoy planning my Disney trips. However, because of my job and family life I don't have the time to make the calls for my trips now. So, I put my trip in the hands of my TA. I still plan the majority of my trip. She just makes all the calls and reservations for me. I'm still doing 90% of the planning, but she looks out for codes for me and for ways for me to save money.

Sorry if any of this offends you, but it's bad to see something this nasty on a Disney board.....

I have nothing to add. Just wanted to say hi to a fellow Alabamian.
