Monday 30th November
You’ll be pleased to know that today we went to a park.

We woke up to lovely clear skies and a warm sun.
We arrived at Epcot at opening time and parked in row 35 so about as close as you can get without a disabled badge.

The crowds weren’t too bad today and we headed straight for our favourite ride, Soarin’; we got fast passes and joined the line.
We had to wait for about twenty minutes and passed the time watching the kids playing along on the motion sensing screens. I don’t know how long this has been in operation as we normally grab passes and head over to Crush. We also did “living with the land” and “The circle of life” which we hadn’t done for a very long time. We were even brave enough to go on Mission Space. We chose the less intense ride and enjoyed it. I cannot see the point in getting off a ride and feeling sick.

Epcot was fairly Chrismassy but not as much as our last trip as they haven’t got the avenue of lights leading down to the tree anymore. We really missed this; we thought it had a real wow factor the first time we saw it. The tree was pretty though and we spotted the union Jack bauble.

We made our way round to Norway and had a Norwegian Club Sandwich (turkey, cheese, bacon, tomato & onion) toasted; it was big enough to share. This we followed with our favourites; Apple Danish for me and School bread for Theresa. The School bread is a lot smaller than it used to be.

We also didn’t miss the opportunity to do a bit more Christmas present shopping.
We managed to get a few little presents in Mexico and we also managed to get the elusive Pokémon plushes in Japan. We had a list of five and the girl in the shop was ever so helpful. We showed her the list and she found all five for us. We weren’t being lazy; some of them only had the name written in Japanese. I phoned my SIL to ask if she wanted us to get any for her but she said she had already got all the presents sorted. We brought two from the list of five. They were twice the price here as the ones we’d spotted in Wal-Mart but to be fair they seemed bigger and far better made. We were so pleased to have crossed that one off of the list. It was surprising the things we thought we’d get easily were quiet difficult to find and some of the things we’d expected to struggle with we got straight away.

Mid afternoon we left the park via the International Gateway and headed over to Beaches and Cream.

We have been meaning to do this for as long as we can remember and have never got round to it before. We both opted for the “ No way Jose “ This was a huge creation of Chocolate & Vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce, butterscotch sauce, peanut butter and chocolate chips. These were delish and Theresa felt she had to point out that she’d finished hers where as I’d left some.

We rode Mission space and Theresa chose health; it was really fun to watch and we e mailed the picture home.

We walked round to watch the Candle light processional and we were surprised to find it was held outside. We’d always thought you had to book the dining package or get there really early to get a chance at the few extra seats as it was inside and you’d not get to see it at all. We stood outside the cordon and we had a really good view. The narrator was John O’Hurley. After a while we decided to go and sit on the wall of the flower bed that is a little farther back as you could still hear the music clearly and there really wasn’t that much to see. They sang Theresa’s favourite carol so she was very happy.

We had an ADR for 7.30 at The Biergarten which is a place we haven’t eaten at before. The waitress was very friendly and the band was fun but to be honest we didn’t rate the food. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with it, it just wasn’t anything special and I don’t think we will be going back. We have had a lot of disappointments with Disney dining so far this trip. I know a lot of disers love The Biergarten , we’re all different, it’s what makes the world go round.

We took the boat across the lake to Canada and found a spot by the wall to watch Illuminations.

Theresa got better photos than me so all of these are hers. She took one of the goodnight sign as well.

She had a new camera for her birthday and she had a lot of fun with it on this trip. I better point out that at least half of the pictures on this report are hers, her camera is a FUJI Finepics S1500 which is a nice little bridge camera. It’s a lot less bulky than carrying mine around all the time.

Tomorrow MVMCP.

Sounds like a fab day and your pictures are brilliant, especially the fab desserts!
