We are:

Tony, (DH – Tony64) age 44 - in charge of driving, collecting coffee and doughnuts for breakfast, running to get fast passes and generally stressing. This is his ninth trip.

Theresa (me), age 43 - in charge of the credit cards and plotting quickest routes to the shopping malls. This is my tenth trip.

Maddie (DD), age 19 - jointly in charge of where we eat, shop and play this trip. This is her seventh trip.

Callum (DS) age 18 - in charge of himself. This is his seventh trip.

Sunday 31st August 2008

We had a lovely lie-in today, followed by breakfast of juice, coffee and chocolate brownies, then indulged in one of our favourite pastimes in Orlando – shopping!

We headed to Michaels (a craft shop) first. We went to the new one that has just opened on the corners of Sand Lake and Turkey Lake Roads. We bought some scrapbooking items for my sister, some packs of scrapbooking papers and craft stamps and saved about $20 by using some money-off vouchers. There were no really good sales offers, though.

From there, we drove to Festival Bay, where Tony bought a cowboy hat in Sheplars and a Shirt or two in Bass Pro.

After Festival Bay, we made our way to The Florida Mall, but on the way we spotted a sign for a Halloween costume shop and made a quick detour to have a look as we have tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The “shop” was actually a huge warehouse with an amazing array of stock. They had some fabulous costumes but most were $50 - $60 each so we decided to give them a miss. Also, most were either far too scary or waaaay too sexy for a Disney Halloween Party! We would have been turned away at the gates!

On reaching the Mall, we went straight to the food court as we were starving by now. Tony and I had rice and two types of chicken from Maki of Japan (just $5.99 each including a soft drink, and was very tasty). Maddie and Cal both had pizza, then Cal had a plateful of barbeque chicken and rice too.

Feeling much better after having eaten, more shopping was in order, so we nipped into FYE where we bought a DVD for Cal and a bright orange speaker cushion for Maddie. We browsed a few more shops before leaving and heading to Downtown Disney. Ghirardelli’s was calling, so we went there first and ordered yummy ice-creams.

Cal just had water as he had had a chocolate soft-serve at the Mall.

We wandered around the shops and bought some prizes for the November quiz in World of Disney before heading home, stopping off at McDonalds for burgers for Maddie, Cal and Tony as it must have been at least an hour since they had last eaten!

STILL hungry, we also popped into Publix to buy hot chicken tenders and chocolate milk.

Finally back at Terrace Ridge, we relaxed in the Jacuzzi which was really lovely, then watched an episode of “House” (yes, I think we are addicted to this programme) before going to bed.

Yummy to those Ice Creams!...and Woo Hoo to more scrapbook shopping. :)

We love 'House' too, so I can understand your obsession. ;) We plan on buying Season 4 out there in December and I'm sure we will be watching it of an evening too. :goodvibes

Great ice-cream shots. Has Tony been trying out his new lens by any chance? ;)

Any piccies of Tony in his hat?

there does seem to be a lack of tony in these photos but I guess the photos of the yummy ice creams make up for this

I've said it before and I'll say it again--the Bucklands know how to do a vacation right and we all have much to learn from you. Your pacing skills are genius. Sleep late. Eat. Shop. Eat. Shop. Eat. Eat. Shop for food to eat later. Eat. Relax in a Jacuzzi. Sleep. Perfection.

My one concern is about Callum opting for a bottle water at Ghirardelli's. You can tell us, Theresa, is the child adopted?

Sometimes we wonder if we brought the wrong baby home from the hospital!;)
