Just wondering if anyone has been to T-Rex restaurant at Downtown Disney at Disneyworld and if they view it as being a top priority to do with a 5 yeaer old boy?

After realising late that it is one of the restaurants that you have to book at the 180 day mark as there is absolutely no availability now – i was lucky and got a reservation at 3:45pm.

Now that I am doing up a spreadsheet with all our ADR’s I have realised I have booked this on the same day as I have pre-booked our Halloween party tickets.

Do you think it is worth keeping the reservation and paying for more Halloween party tickets on a different night?

How much would a 5 year old boy like it??

Thanks so much!!

Is it worth it for a 5 year old boy? Yes! We loved TRex, ate there three times actually on our last trip. My DS loved it (and he was 10) and I loved it too. My friends kids went too and they thought it was awesome.

I do remember that they (the restaurant), only release a very small number of reservations to Disney. So you might try contacting them directly and you may be able to get a reservation time that is closer to meal time if the one you have doesn't suit you.

I couldn't get a booking online for the nights that we wanted so I contacted my US TA and she got the reservation for me! :goodvibes

we go every year..the cocktails are awesome and the food is great. A bit expensive but the surroundings are worth it.:thumbsup2

We ate there and enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it's an over the top experience, but may be more so for a 5 year old especially it it's been talked up - he won't have seen anything like it before!
I was told same parent company, different theme to Rainforest Cafe.

In terms of getting in though (therefore preserving your Halloween Party bookings), don't sweat. We just walked up at dinner time, were given a time (about 30 mins later) and probably 15-20 mins later our party was called. Same thing at RC (both at DL and WDW). RC has better merch ;)

We loved it! My older 2 were 5 and 7 at the time. The food surprised me. I thought it'd be average but I really enjoyed it. Now that Karen mentioned it, the cocktails were good too!

We made a reservation the day before when we went in December.

try the cocktail with cotton candy in it..awesome:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

and get the starter platter...will feed 2 adults no problems for around $18

Thanks so much for your advice everyone! I ended up calling them directly last night as was able to get a booking for the time we originally wanted!! :yay:

Will definitely be trying out your cocktail and food ideas Australian Karen!

the menus at RC/Trex are the same items, just diff names for each...

make sure you walk around and check out the different areas....I love being seated either at the bar, or in the underwater section...dinosaurs scare me:confused3
