Has anyone eaten at this resturant yet? I have not found many reviews on the place. The reviews I have seen say the atmosphere is excellant but the service is slow.
I am wondering about the quality of the food. Large or small portions? Overpriced? Typical for Disney resturants?
I had booked at supper time but changed my reservation to lunch time thinking it may be a little less crowded.

This year my family along with another went to T-Rex and all of the kids LOVED it (ages 3,4 and 10). The 3 yo was a little frightened by the dinosaurs but after she realized they couldn't walk she was thrilled. Of course the atmosphere was great along with the food. We went there for a late lunch 2:00 so most of us ordered sandwiches or appetizers for our meal, but we all were very please. Portion sizes are huge, to much to eat in one sitting for sure. If you have kids there is a Build a Bear (dinosaurs) in the restaraunt that all the kids loved. If you do eat there and you are seated in the front of the you must take a walk around to "sight see". There is an ice cave towards the restroom that is really neat. I think it is busy any time of the day you go, but it is a really large place so it doesn't feel to crowded. You will love it once you go.

I forgot to add that the prices are average or I guess I should say "average for Disney". Totally worth it though.

We went in March our first night being there. It was a really cool place. The atmosphere is impressive, more so than Rainforest Cafe. Part of the group had to walk around the place! They were in awe. I got the Fire Roasted Rotisserie Chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and baked beans. The baked beans were a little bland for my taste. Portions were kinda large. I couldn't finish everything. For the entree it was $20. But the service was not slow when we went and it was pretty busy that night. Our server was pretty cool too.

We really, really enjoyed TRex in Feb, so much so that we are going back in Nov. The atmosphere ROCKED, the food was tasty and VERY plentiful, and it was pricey, but pretty in line with Disney dining overall. We also did build-a-dino (a green one we named Tink), and we walked all the way through to see everything. The bathrooms are actually pretty cool, too! Our server, Bruce, was on top of everything and was one of the nicest servers we had all trip. DD gave him a 10!

I have a ADR for next Sat for dinner, its the start of our trip! I cant wait! I hope the food is better than RFC I didnt care for it very much at all, I believe my DD12 and I will share a meal while DS16 and DH get their own and then we all share the big dessert

Think Rainforest with dinosaurs:)
Actually we thought the food was marginally better and the rooms are really cool. All the kids seem to get eyes big as saucers and after it is fun to make your dinosaur in the adjacent shop.

We went a couple of weeks ago for lunch. We had fantastic service but found the portions to be large. We had been planning to order the chocolate extinction dessert so we didn't order appetizers. We still were too full to order dessert! My husband said the ribs were great.

We went here and all had burgers. The menu was pricey but the portions were large. It's very loud, though. The roaring and thunder got annoying.

We enjoyed our visit to T Rex. We stopped there for lunch after we got off the Disney cruise ship and headed to the airport. The place was loud, but we expected it. Food was average which is normal I guess for a theme place. The portions were HUGE. We actually ordered waay too much food.
My girls loved the place. Unfortunately we didn't have time to make a dino but we do plan going back in December for our trip and making one plus eating again at T Rex.

Here are some photos from the place:

We had dinner at TRex in February as well, our first night dinner at WDW. It was great! The servings are HUGE, it's quite loud in the front of the restaurant but much better in the furthest room back.

The theming is great! We thought the food was good and the prices typical Disney prices, but you get a lot for it. I had the Triasic Tuna appy as my entree and it was fantastic! I want it again right now!

We loved TRex. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was soooo good. We were all too full for dessert and thought if we walked DTD and shopped for awhile we'd go to Ghiradelli for ice cream, but everyone was still stuffed. It was a little pricey, but we had more expensive meals on our trip :)

Hi I read that you did the Build a Dino. We leave on Sunday for our first trip to Disney. My son turns 3 the day after we come home and are having a Big Birthday dinner at T Rex the night before we leave. Can you tell me approximately how much the Build a Dino was. Do they have clothes and all the accessories like Build a Bear? Any help would be appreciated.

We have eaten there twice and both times it was good. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable (less than Disney). The atmosphere can not be beat! However if anyone has autistic children, you may want to skip this restaurant. DD (12) did well, but during the meteor shower she did clasp her hands over her ears and lay in my lap.

T-Rex is not part of the dining plan.

I ditto the sentiments of everyone else who has kids. My friend took her 4 year old with asperberger's syndrome and eased her into it gently. They walked around before they sat down to get her acclimated to the place.

They said she talked about nothing else when they returned home a few days later. She loved it!

We as a group of adults loved TRex. As was stated, the portions are large and we found the food to be much better than Rainforest. The atmosphere was fun and the service was good. We have reservations for our trip in December as well. I think this time my sister and I are going to split a meal and either get an appetizer or a dessert. The only thing I would say negative is that is was really loud in there.

Hi there!

We were there in Feb and found the place to be fantastic. At that time, they were not accepting ADR's, so we - a party of 6 adults and 5 kids - just chanced it, and managed to get a table after about a 40 min wait (it was PACKED - I was honestly surprised it only took that long).

I HATED the check-in set up --- and am sincerely hoping they have changed it (I actually wrote and complained about it). When we were there, it was a "two line" system. You waited in the first line to give your information to the host/ess - this took about 15 minutes. I believe they were trying to cull out people they could seat right away (I saw a couple of two tops go in, and folks for the bar). Then they sent you to a SECOND line where only one member of the party had to languish.... basically, your table would be ready by the time you got to the front of that line. I was the poor fool in that line, and didn't have the best time seeing the rest of my party go for beer and walk around the shop! GAH! (Of course, they also had to deal with the kids wanting every single thing in the store... but the beer!!!!)

Anyway - the food was excellent, portions were absurdly huge, and the kids had the BEST time in the Build A Dino (and I have no idea how much it was, since I don't have kids... sorry!). It is indeed quite loud, but we still didn't have any problem chatting over it. The cocktails are huge, strong and excellent, so I can definitely recommend those. I got mine in a souvie glass, a glass which I use ALL the time @ home.

This was our 2nd favorite rest. on our last trip (did a lot of character meals). My husband had the tomato soup, it was so good. I was nervous about trying it because I was unimpressed with TRC, TRex is WAY better!
