T-rex

We went last year in Oct. 4 of us walked up at about 6:00 and were seated right away! All 4 of us loved the food. Like another poster stated, get the ribs! They were great!:thumbsup2 Although it was very loud in the restaurant, it is to be expected, its the atmosphere.
When we left the restaurant around 8:00, the line was wrapping around the side of the restaurant! This year we are going to make a ressie just to be safe!

I'm thinking about this one too but the reviews are not that great. What to do, what to do....

Reservations for T-rex can be made thru disney dining...

Our 90 day mark was Monday and when I called, I was told T-Rex was booked for dinner every day I tried for. I called back the next day, and was given an ADR for Thursday, 9/3 @ 9 pm which was a little later than I thought my twin 4 year olds could handle but I was desparate :confused3 so I took it.

Today I tried the other number, the direct one, 407-828-8739, and I was able to snag a ressie for 6:30 on 9/3!!! :cool1::cool1:

Moral of the story... try BOTH:)

I'm on the fence with this one too-we're going for my son's bday in spetember-thought it would be a good idea...I'm debating now. I'm sure they'd love it-its me and the noise i'm afraid of. I like quieter restaurants to sit and talk over dinner-especially after walking the parks all day. After all its his Bday...is T-Rex on the dining plan? I looked at the menu-i didnt think its very expensive.

I went a month or some back just to try it out. For a party of two for lunch we just walked up with a 15 min wait. We were pretty much comparing it to rainforest, since they are both similar Landry's restaurants. The prices are pretty high but I thought the food was actually a little better than Rainforest. I got some pasta dish with peas I really liked my husband had some philly cheese steak thing. We would go back sometime but it was pricy so not to regularly. The theming is pretty cool, I think I will request sitting in the ice cave room if we go again, we were by the fish tank that time. Our service was really good for this type of restaurant, my husbands food had to be recooked because it had a lot of toppings he was not expecting and they had the problem fixed very fast. I think it is defiantly worth a try. It does have a meteor strike (similar to the thunderstorm in the rainforest) that might scare little kids.

We had a wonderful experience when we went in Feb. I had called the restaurant directly to make our reservation (the only option at the time). It's neat that WDW-DINE takes them now, but sounds like the restaurant doesn't release all their reservations to Disney, so I'll probably call directly again for Nov.

We enjoyed the food, DD LOVED our server (gave him a 10!), and we really enjoyed the crazy, loud atmosphere including the meteor shower. DD also built a dino, a green one she named Tink. We had such a wonderful time we both want to go back on our first day next trip. It was so much fun!!!

The cost didn't seem too out of line for a totally immersive vacation at Disney experience. It definitely wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I think you can only get priority seating which is a little different than a reservation.

This is not true. I made reservations on Memorial day, while making the rest of my ADR's for our upcoming trip. We have an 8:00 PM (the earliest available by the way) reservation for T-Rex on Sunday, August 23rd, which is the day we arrive at Disney. The reservation was made by the same CM who made the rest of our ADR's. There was no need to call any other number, I didn't call T-Rex directly, just called the normal reservations number 1-407-939-3463

If you want an earlier time, I would try calling T-Rex direct. You might be pleasantly surprised. I think they only give so many seats or something for Disney to book. I was able to book the exact time I wanted through them, after being told it wasn't available through Disney Dining.

Ok. Just to clarify a few things:

1. Reservations on Disney property (including TRex) is only a priority seating. Now with that being said, a priority seating gives you the next available table at your specific time.

2. You CAN make reservations (priority seating) through Disney Dining. They just started taking them a few weeks ago.

3. You can also make them directly at 407-828-8739.

4. You can still only book 90 days in advance through Disney Dining but you can book up to 6 months ahead if you call directly.

I hope this answers some questions.

Yep that's right ...... I just called about 1/2 hr ago. She said it is priority seating, that means you get the next available table at your time slot...I was good with that!!!!:thumbsup2

That's great you can book 6 months ahead directly through the restaurant. I get to call on Thursday then! Thanks so much for the info. :)

"a totally immersive vacation at Disney experience" -- that's exactly what I'm going for this trip. We haven't been in 9 years, and who knows when we'll get to go back. My DS6 has never been, and my DS13 was 4 the last time we are there. So I'm basically planning as if this were the "trip of a lifetime," and trying to fit in as much "6 yo boy magic" as possible. We're doing T-Rex, CM, CP, Ohana, Tusker House, 1900 Pk Fare, MNSSHP -- any other suggestions? I want to make this SUPER MAGICAL!

I called the restuarant directly today - 1-407-828-8739 and had my pick of times for the day I requested.

We are mainly going for the atmosphere - already know what to expect for the quality of food from Landry's restaurants. Some people love the food but most think it is just ok. But hey, where else can you dine with dinosaurs! :goodvibes

Have fun!

I just called direct today for 9/12 at 5:30, party of 6. Sounded like I could have picked anytime I wanted without problems. She said it was a "priority seating" and my last name was my reservation #. I asked about changing our group size (we have local family there who may join us, we'll know in a few weeks) and she said we could just call back and add them. Easy as pie!

Ok, so I can book thru T-Rex direct now for my Nov/Dec trip. Is this right?:confused3 I'm a little confused.
Also, as far as it being loud...Can anyone tell me is it about the same as Rainforest Cafe or would you say it is louder? My son LOVES Dino's (they just had a big school-wide "theme day" on Dino's) and he really wants to go. However, he has some sensory issues (he can't take really loud noise ie: fireworks, parade music) so if it's super-noisy I don't think he will be able to enjoy it.
Thanks for the advice:goodvibes

I don't know for sure about that...we have dinner reservations for this Monday night. Maybe they only do them for certain times of day/year.

I called Disney Dining a couple months ago & they told me they don't make ressies for TRex, but I called TRex last week & got dinner @ 6:30 no problem for the last week of June. I told the hostess we wanted dinner whenever we could get it, & she said what time EXACTLY because we are not booked at all, so we got exactly what we wanted.
