My children read about T-Rex in DTD and now they are wanting to go there the afternoon we spend in DTD. I have been to Rainforest Cafe in Dallas. Anyone want to share their dining experiences or reviews to help me decide?

Hey there Mom!

Thoughts on T-Rex ... hmm ... in the simplest terms T-Rex IS RainForest but with dinosaurs. ;) Don't get me wrong ... I am NOT knocking it!!! We do both places every time we go on vacation ... I was just being as basic as I could be.

The food is very good and I feel the portions are perfect for the price you are paying. Just like RainForest you have different rooms like the Ice Cave and the Meteor/Volcano Room just to name a few. If you enjoyed RainForest and were happy with what you got there then I would say you should certainly give T-Rex a whirl! :thumbsup2

I hope I answered your question! If you need or want me to be more specific I can or if you need help with anything else I am at your disposal!!! :surfweb:

P.S. - The whole Ice Cave Room changes color ... it won't make you sick (At least it didn't for my family and I) but it may make your eyes go buggy every now and then ... and I'm thinking it would be a little trippy if you had one or two adult beverages! :thumbsup2 :3dglasses :lmao:

We ate in the ice cave room once, and only once. It really was LOUD (CAN YOU HEAR ME:rotfl:) We love T-Rex, great atmosphere, but sit outside of the ice cave room now....did I say the ice cave room was LOUD? The rest of the restaurant isn't as bad with the volume. Good food, and DVC gets a discount....yeah!

We really liked it. We were a party of 7 and just did 4 appetizers and two of the huge extinction deserts. We actually left some dessert and the table and went away very full. Yum! be sure to try the nachos and the appetizer platter with multiple items. If you want reservations, call them directly instead of booking thru Disney.

I ordered Paleo Shrimp which came out cold. They made me a fresh one and, wow, was it ever delicious. I will definitely return.

Enjoy.

:)

We went as a party of adults. Loved the appetizers and did not mind the loudness. Planning on returning.

We had a great time at T-Rex. I wasn't expecting a stellar dining experience but was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good. We ate in the fire room. Our waitress went into labor halfway through our meal and we got another waiter and waitress (got their signals crossed) so we had a lot of attention! We will go back.

We ate in the Ice Cave also...definitely freeky on the eyes..:3dglasses

We ate there this past March and we had a great time!:cool1:
The 6 of us shared the "chocolate extinction" dessert and it was amazing!
We were not in the ice cave but we could see it very well, we were right next to the T-Rex. I have to agree that it is LOUD, not a place for a romantic dinner, but it was fine for a family meal and the kids had a blast ;)

My family loves it! Especially DH.. We go every trip! We always go down the day before we check into WDW and stay in a DTD resort and do DTD and Dq and eat dinner at Trex..

WHile the same company owns both RFC and Trex I feel the food is better. DH always get the Crousteous Steak (like country fried) and DD get the Paelozoic Chicken sandwhich and I like the Tribal Tacos (grilled mahi mahi tacos)\

You got to try the cottintini its delicous as well as the extinction desert!!!

It can get quite loud in there but we enjoy it, so much to look at!
