Opinions? Anyone been there? I've booked lunch time resevations on out last day of the trip as we won't be in any parks. Is it worth it? Thanks everyone.

We think so, we love Trex, while RFC and Trex are owned by same company we feel the food is better at Trex. We normally arrive the day before we check into our WDW resort so we made it a tradition to eat here our first night! My DH adores the chicken fried steak, it huge and cooked perfectly, steak is tender and seasoned great while batter is crisp and light. I like the mahi mahi tacos or the chicken club sandwhich on the pizza bread.

We have been 3 times, and it will be 4 in August. I am no longer a fan of their food. It's the basic chain restaurant food you can get anywhere. I don't know. Normally I don't ever hate any food place (Except any CS in DHS) But this place is getting on my nerves. Yet I keep going back because my 6 year old loves the atmosphere and gets a new build a dino each year. :)

We went three times (different trips) last year. We have always had very good food there, certainly a lot better than some Disney food we have had.

I am not a fan of the noise, but DD8 loves dino's and since the food has been good we will be going back on our May trip. :)

Yes, it's very noisy and hectic. If you are used to eating at good restaurants you will not care for the food.

:rotfl: I've got three kids so my life is noisy and hectic anyways! They loved the Rain Forest Cafe on our last trip so I'll think I'll go ahead and try it. Thanks everyone.

Have Fun! My boys always seem to have a good time when we go. :) They do have a chicken sandwich that is done in a fried pizza dough and I really like it.

I think it's mediocre at best. It's exactly like Rainforest Cafe but with dinos. Even the food seems the same, I think it's owned by the same company. So if you're hip to Rainforest - or even a Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe menu, you can know what to expect. If you're going to Rainforest the same trip, I would not do both places. We went there for lunch on a Thursday in April and didn't have any reservations and the place was empty so it was not noisy/hectic for me.

If you don't mind noisy and your kids loved the Rain Forest and they love Dinos, then you will LOVE TRex. :)
We go every other trip - not for the food..it is "meh" at best and waaaay overpriced... but our kids LOVE anything and everything dino-themed..so Trex is great for them. They have a HUGE gift shop (shocking I know;)) and a really fun area outside with sand that the kids can dig for dino bones (like the Boneyard in AK but much smaller).
Before you go, check the internet for Landry's coupons. We were able to find a $10 of a $25 coupon and a .99 kids meal coupon. :)

Thanks for the info, I'll definatley try to find a coupon, I never even thought of that.

We went there last summer and thought it was great. Honestly, we weren't going for the food, but for the experience. We knew our 7 and 4 year old boys would love it and sure enough, they did! I thought the food was decent. Nothing awesome, but better than the usual Chick-fil-A or McDonald's fare that we are used to with young boys (we are definitely not foodies). My husband enjoyed the chicken fried steak (which was HUGE) and I had ravioli that was pretty good. Also, I really liked that it was loud with young kids. My kids are usually pretty good, but it was nice to know that I wouldn't have to worry about hushing them if they got a little crazy! ;)
