T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe??

I'm not on here "24/7" either. I know this because I leave in 3 days and I need to know these things.

well I hope you have fun on trip! I wish I was leaving that soon! Anyway now that I found out about T Rex I am so going there our first night on property.

The food at both is rather similar, to be expected of chain restaurants that are owned by the same parent company, but I enjoy it. RC is a staple and T-Rex is just as good. The atmosphere there might be enjoyed more by your boys; DD was downright terrified. Best bet is to pull up the menus online and see which one caters more to your family's taste buds!

Just did the T-Rex Jan 2 with the DDP. Only Difference is the kids did not get apps and some of the desserts are counted as 2 so they can be shared and the size of them they are meant to be shared. We a family of 12 ppl with a 6 and 9 year old loved it. The interior was great.

So, which of these is better?

I think that our boys, 12 and 10 would like either one - so, that leaves the decision up to which one tastes better!

We'd be on the DxDP, so price doesnt matter...

and what did you get when you ate there?

What was good & what was bad...come on, you can be honest..I can take it!!

:rotfl:

Just to add something. We DO prefer T-Rex, but have had a harder time getting a table here. For example, right now when we wanted to go March 6th, we cannot get a dinner table ( we can get a late lunch ). So we're going to Rainforest instead.

That being said, we do prefer T-rex if you can get it.

unfortunatly i am not a fan of either restaurant. the prices i think are far too expensive for the quality of food that you are getting. The rainforest cafe feels way too cramped and noisy. when you go to these restaurants you are paying for the novelty of the place.

I called the restaurant directly yesterday and got a reservation. Have you tried calling the restaurant? I read elsewhere that it's easier to get a reservation if you call the restaurant. Good luck!

Since I realized that both are on the plan, I added both to our April/May trip. We always do the DxDP so haven't eaten at either before. My 4 year old is excited

We prefer RC over T-Rex. The atmosphere is better at T-Rex but it's insanely loud. Like can't talk to the people you are dining with loud. RC is loud but not quite as bad. I prefer the food at RC. I went when they first opened, I don't know if they have added anything to the menu since then. At the time we went, it had less choices than RC.

We have Rainforest Cafe in Connecticut, so it was an easy choice to go to T-Rex. After eating at both, i would still choose T-Rex. Having a 5 year old helps when it comes to dinosaurs.

While I love sitting at the bar and having drinks and apps at both, RFC may beat out T-rex for food IMO. BUT... I think the RFC is old looking when you look at the dinos at T-rex. It is awesome when they come to life! I think your kids will love the dinos at T-rex and the food is good too. We like the nachoes and fried cheese app. The ribs are good and DH gets the combo plate, which is enough for 2 people! I had the chix fried steak and it was good but a little greasy. The waffle fries are yummy too. As others have said the food is a lot alike, chain food but the dinos beat out RFC. ENJOY!

They are similar and owned by the same company, I have been the kids and I prefer TREX

We've done both, and the DBF & I adored T-Rex! It was really a great time, and I thought the food was better. I believe I got roasted chicken, and it was delicious. I have a terrible stomach & it was acting up, so it was the perfect meal for me - not bland at all, just perfect. I thought the atmosphere was more fun as well. We went during its first or second week open and had a blast! Have fun!
