T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe

Can anybody compare and contrast these for me? I know lots of ppl do not like Rainforest, but we loved it last time we were there. Of course, that was in 2000. I have two boys, ages 13 and 6, and I just wondered which one would be the most fun for them, especially the 6 yr old.

They are both very cool restaurants. We went to both on our trip last month. The food is on par with each other. Nothing really fancy. The Bamba's Chicken Wrap at RFC and the ribs at T-Rex are both very very good. The atmosphere is basically the same. I actually thought that T-Rex was quieter than RFC. The gift shop at T-Rex is significantly smaller but cool just the same. They have the build a dino in there. We also discovered that they had geodes that you can crack open and bags of either fossils or gems that you can run thru the sluice outside. Neither were horribly expensive.

If the 6 year old is at all into dinosaurs I would suggest T-Rex for the fun factor.

With two boys and already having gone to RFC, I would definitely try T-Rex. They have a different (yet similar feel) menu but dinosaurs and woolly mammoths instead of jungle animals and meteor showers instead of thunderstorms every 20 minutes. Have a great time no matter where you decide!

Thanks. I'm definitely leaning toward T-Rex. DS6 likes dinosaurs, but he's a little scared of them. I think he'll love it though as long as we explain to him they're not real. DS13 was 4 when we went to Rainforest, but he loved it and it's one of the only things he remembers from his Disney trip.

We go to Rianforest cafe often (live close-ish to one) and it is fun with good food. Last month DH and I did an adult trip to the World and went to T-Rex...AWESOME!!! The food was so amazing...totally recommend the ribs!!! If your boys like dinos I'd suggest T-Rex, especially if you have been to RC before...try something new

I thought the food at T-Rex was actually a bit better than rainforest. Maybe it was just because they were new and really on their game but it just seemed better executed. If you have done Rainforest and not T-Rex I think that is reason enough to try it though.

Thanks. I'm thinking T-Rex, but am hearing that Rainforest at AK is a bit less crowded and chaotic than the DTD restaurants. Anybody have thoughts about that?

Owned by the same company. T-Rex is new. Both are good.
