Hi,

On Oct 25 I called T-rex for a reservation as they did not have online reservations through the WDW website at that time. Site gave no option to book it. So I spoke with someone at trex and they told me we would have "priority seating" since they did not take reservations. She asked for our last name and said that would be our reservation code.

Now after reading some threads here I learned that you can book a reservation online through WDW... When did that happen? I plan to call trex tomorrow to be sure our reservation is still noted but I am a bit concerned as I did a few tests and NOTHING was available except 4PM for dinner...

Sure hope that phone call the night before the 180 day window opened was still the right thing to do and the reservation is in the t-rex system... i never checked or asked on the 26th cuz i thought i had it covered.. maybe i still do and am just paranoid becuz it's almost 1am... must get to bed! :surfweb:

Priority Seating and ADR (Advance Dining Resevation) are the same thing - it means you'll get the next available seat for your party size.

You are fine :)

that T-Rex allots some portion of their seats to Disney Dining. This is fairly common for DTD restaurants since people living nearby or just visiting the area but not the parks can drop in.

People heading to Disney call Disney Dining for restaurant ADRs. Many do not think of calling the restaurant directly. RFC in DTD usually has long lines on Friday and Saturday nights during busy periods, but you can usually call not to far in advance to get a reservation and cut the waits from 60-90 minutes to 15 or so.

We made our T-Rex priority seatings for the last trip prior to online ADRs or Disney Dining taking them. (You could call direct to the restaurant 180 days in advance back then. By the time we actually went Disney was doing ADRs also) Since allocating slots to Disney Dining a number of posters have noted that they couldn't get anything through Disney but had a lot of choices by calling directly. I suspect that if you called T-Rex today you would find priority seating still available on that particular day.

As mentioned above, T-Rex priority seating is very much like and ADR - which was called priority seating before being called an ADR. The process is about the same as RFC. There is a podium outside. If the restaurant is not busy, you are directed to a line inside to wait your turn for an available table. If it is busy you may be asked to wait outside. With priority seating you go to the podium and you will be directed inside to the line when you arrive no matter how many people are waiting outside. Some people will be in front of you in the line, but the wait will usually be short.

Many people are saying that if you call the restaurant directly you will get a much better time then going thru Disney Dining.

Disney "reservations" are not reservations in the sense that Disney won't hold a table open for your party. The "reservation" gets you the next available table that will fit your party, which could result in some waiting after you check in if the correct size table is not immediately available. Disney used to call this a "priority seating" until it decided that term was too confusing to guests and started using "advance dining reservation." The procedure didn't change, just the name.

Because T-Rex is not a Disney restaurant, they are using different terminology, but it's basically the same procedure, whether you booked through Disney or not. In fact, there's no real advantage to booking T-Rex through Disney, unless it's the fact that you can book all your reservations through Disney at one time (assuming they're all available).

I feel stupid, but where can I find the coupon, I've been looking around on the website, but I can't find it.

Edit, never mind I found it, but we're going in January.
