I've read on here that the Safari Club card can be used at T-rex. When doing so, what are the discounts - still 10% off or choice of a free appetizer like at Rainforest? If free appetizer, which one is given? Can the price of the free appetizer be applied towards a higher cost appetizer?

Does T-rex have it's own card with additional food benefits not on the Safari Club card?

Anyone tried the Chicken Fried Steak? My hubby loves such, but for comfort food, it is expensive at T-rex. Don't want to get it & it not be any good or a small portion - at Rainforest we always split the entree along with the free appetizer. Our entree at Rainforest is always - RASTA PASTA!!! Yum, yum!

These days, what is the Safari Club card free appetizer at Rainforest?

Thanks, Julie

I'd go to their website and email your questions. I sent in a question not to long ago and got a quick reply.

We have the safari club card and have only used it once at Rainforest, the rest of the time at T-Rex. We always take the discount rather than the appetizer so I'm not 100% sure you can choose, but most likely either will be okay. T-Rex does not have it's own card that I am aware of since I think there are only 2 restaurants.

DH has had the chicken fried steak. He didn't rave but he didn't complain. I'm pretty sure it was just your average. I do seem to remember it was pretty big as are most of the portions at T-Rex.

We were there a few weeks ago and my husband had the chicken fried steak. It was huge! I thought it tasted pretty good and so did he. I had the mushroom ravioli which I thought was good too.

Also, they accepted Rainforest Cafe coupons while we were there. I printed off a coupon for 1 free kids meal with purchase of an adult meal and they took it!

My kids had a blast there!

It is the same as RF. We took the free appetizer as when I calculated out the 10% off, the free appetizer was better for us. I don't remember all of the choices (there were several) but we had the shrimp and artichoke dip that was amazing!

I had the chicken fried steak at T-Rex.... I thought it was awful. It was obviously pre-cooked and frozen, delivered by some restaurant supply place. Based on the PP's statements maybe mine was an isolated incident, but based on my experience T-rex has many other options for a decent meal, the chicken fried steak is not one of them.

Thank you everyone for your help. Considering Viking's comment, what about the other items on the menu? Anyone want to offer any menu items they liked .... or didn't like?

TaraBara, where did you find a coupon for Rainforest? I found one for retail discount, but that does not interest us. Also found one for free appetizer, but we already get that. Found one on 1.bp.blogspot.com for $10 off, but it expired on 8/31/10 - I'll try it anyway since in the past they have honored expired coupons. Know of any others out there for food at T-rex or Rainforest?

Julie

Can the Safari Club card also be used for advanced seating at T Rex like you can at the Rain Forest?

The ribs at T Rex are very good. They were oh so tender. I know boyfriend will be ordering them again. I was pregnant when we went and was craving a burger so that is what I had. It was a burger, nothing super special but that could also be because I was pregnant. I had a tendency to crave things and then they were only ok when I had them.

Thanks again everyone.

worm761, we love ribs too, & a full rack of ribs is always a shared entree for us. Maybe we'll give them a try.

disneygal55, I don't know, but I bet it can. However, reservations can be made also.

Julie

We call ahead and make reservations with T-rex directly instead of Disney, they had more time slots available.

We do the free appetizer, usually it seems to be the onion rings with the Safari card.

I have never seen or heard of a T-rex type non-safari card.

Nothing at TRex is small! We actually like to get their french onion soup and split a sandwich. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is yummy but HUGE! We love TRex and we use the safari card for the discount in stead of the appetizer, the app seems to be too much food for us! :thumbsup2
