T-Rex disappointment

To each their own is right! :thumbsup2 Im not fond of Le Cellier either, or Ohana for that matter. We've been to TRex a million times and LOVE IT! My son adores that place. We both always had great meals. Never a bad one. Everyone's taste is different.

:thumbsup2

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed T-Rex(really don't like Rainforest). Can't wait to eat there in 3 weeks:woohoo:

This is the thing i find most amusing...ppl complaining about the noise at TRex. Its like going to an indian restaurant and complaining there's nothing but indian food there. What do ppl honestly expect? Even when youre checking in at the podium, you have a feel for how loud it is. There's your chance to back out, unless Trex charges for no-shows, then you dont have a choice but to stay (unless you wanna swallow the $10pp). But anyway, i just find it amusing. :upsidedow

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that I had a real problem with the noise, although I could see how you can read that from my message.

It didn't bother me overly much when I was there. The table we were out (party of four) was pretty large with lots of space between everyone so conversation was a little bit difficult. I would likely still go back because the novelty is enough to make it worthwhile.

I do think its important for people to know about it though and be able to make their own decisions.

The food is good.........on par with Rainforest.
But the wait to get in can be daunting..............and people's tempers flare.

We had 8 pm ADR for our arrival day, 10-28. Got there and checked in about 7:45. We are Landry's members, so was listed as VIP with a seating time of 7:59..............so 8:20 comes around  Go ask about it. Sent to a different line. 10 minutes later, called a manager over. He wasn't too happy with our wait either and we were seated immediately.

Menu is similar to Rainforest with some different names to go with the theme.
We like the food............and always go to Rainforest. We have one close to home too.
But the wait, the crowds and the noise is pretty intense at T Rex. Not sure we will go back.

I have the same opinion as most on this board about T-Rex cafe and Rainforest cafe. The atmosphere is crazy and loud, the choice of food and serving sizes are HUGE!, the service is slow, the food is good - but not great, getting a reservation or waiting for a table is tough. I think everyone agrees with most of this. The only thing that matters for my family is my son and daughter insist on eating at both T-Rex at DTD and Rainforest at AK, so we eat there. My wife and I order an adult beverage or two and roll with it. The look on my kids faces when we eat here is worth the noise and slow service. They absolutely love it and enjoy every minute. By the way, I had the fajitas at Rainforest Cafe at AK in February, and they were excellent! Do it for your kids!
