T-Rex Cafe Update?

I wonder why they didnt put it in Animal Kingdom? That would be better! We are not planning on going to DTD and i dont think we would make a separate trip especially if it's not on the DDP. If it was in AK we would go!

I dont know if this helps but they have started hiring. So imo that would mean they are going to be opening sooner rather than later.

Sweet! I am hoping for November 13th so we can go before our cirque show!

I just called a CM today and no reservations as of yet that she knew of. There is a video on youtube of the T-Rex Cafe in Kansas City and it looks awesome. I so hope that it will be open when we come in mid November...my kids...and hubby and I would love to eat there!

I'm lucky enough to live super close to the T-rex in Kansas City. It's so amazing, especially since we usually don't get any big time first run things in the Midwest. ha ha... I'm working on uploading some pics, :confused3 I hope it works. A few things about the KS location (I'm guessing it'll be similar in WDW)

Fist of all... most of the Dinos are life size. When we walk in the door we are greeted with the face of a really big T-Rex. Very cool, but it can freak out some kids:scared1: . At least kids in WDW are familar with "robots". A friend of mine had a daughter that loved Rain Forest Cafe, but walked in T-Rex and was frozen in fear, then burst into tears in less than a minute. :scared:

Second, there are different themed rooms. Upstairs we were sat in a "cold room" that was suposed to be like the ice age coming. There was also a volcano room, an aquarium room, etc. Some have more animitronics than others.

Third, they have a huge gift shop and a "build a dino" which is owned by build a bear. It's really cool!

Fourth, they have a dig site. It's cool because there is a pit you can uncover bones in sand. There are also computer games and a cave and real fossils you can buy. The bad part is it cost $2.50 to get in the dig area, even adults have to pay.

Food is on par with Rain Forrest Cafe. Everything I've had was good not great, but over priced. popcorn::

As i mentioned, I'm working on some pics. I've never done it before, so hopefully I can get it to work!

If there are any questions  about KS T-Rex, please let me know. I hope that helps!:goodvibes

We'll see if this works...

We were sat in the aquarium room, note the bar on the left, the giant squid tenticles, and looking toward the door to the T-Rex that greets you when you enter.

Still trying to figure this out, I'll try to see if I can make the pic smaller...

This is a direct pic of the aquarium bar.

Hope that gives everyone an idea of what will probably be in WDW. I don't want to flood the board with too many pics, so I'll stop now. I have a few more if anyone is interested. :)

hmm... seems like I resized some, but not all, I'll have to keep working with it.

We will be there next April so I was wondering if they will in fact take reservations, does anyone know and I take it that this will be a $$$ place? :listen:

Wow- my DD6 will love this (and me too;) The pictures look great, we will be there next year in August for a couple of days before our cruise- and will defiantely be eating there!!

Too bad it won't be open in Sept. My DH would love to go see that! We have a Rain Forest cafe here, and I've always thought it was pretty neat, but the TRex place looks awesome!
