HELLO EVERYONE. LONGTIME READER, FIRST TIME POSTER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE FOOD IS GOOD AT T-REX. I KNOW IT IS OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT RUN RAINFOREST AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TOO CRAZY ABOUT THAT PLACE. IF IT IS BASICALLY THE SAME, I WILL SKIP IT, HAVE TO ADMIT THOUGH THAT MY KIDS DO LOVE THE THEMING Opopcorn:: F RAINFOREST

If your kids like dino's it is the place to go. A little better done on the inside than rainforest. Hubby and I had drinks and tested some of the food at the bar one day. It was quite good for that type food. We would return to try other things, nice menu. Huge portions. Everything coming out all around us looked and smelled wonderful.

my sister and i are BIG fans of rainforest cafes (we tend to find one everywhere we go on vacations). so we decided to try t-rex over christmas since it's run by the same company. we were lucky enough that when we arrived at dtd around 5ish on dec 18th there was no wait and were seated right away.
atmosphere wise- we loved it! we were seated by two very animated dinos (but by the end it sounded like cows when they were talking:). the metershower was cool.
food wise- the menu is a lot smaller than rainforest's- if you've only been once or twice or are really hungry you won't notice. i felt like it was a lot of the same at other places nothing really special or standout about it.
my sister and i ended up splitting a tuna salad sandwich-it's a good thing b/c it was huge! it was served with chips (which i love instead of fries).
although i do miss having more options on the appitizers list. i did take notice of a lot of sea food on the menu- besides tuna salad i really dislike sea food and fish and i felt like most of the menu had some sort of sea food in it which narrowed down my choices a lot.

over all it was a great experience. i would recommend going there around 4:30ish if you don't want to wait too long for a table. when we were leaving the place the wait went from nothing to 3 hours in a matter of 30 minutes!

I thought most of the food was quite similar to RFC (esp the high prices) but I did try the lasagna at T Rex, and it was worth whatever the heck I paid. The best lasagna ever. My kids (of course) had the kids chicken nuggets and kids pasta, which were average. My daughter made a "build a dino" (same as "build a bear") and actually the prices are the same as build a bear. HTH! Also, it's VERY loud there, little kids may be scared from the level of noise.

My 4yo DS LOVED it. My 2.5yo DD, was scared of the dinosaurs. (she said she likes them in moo-zooms -- museums :lmao: )

We all liked our food, the service was friendly and we didn't have to wait to long. It was expensive, but we were expecting that.

We've never been to Rainforest Cafe's, but we'll go back to T-Rex next time we're there.
