Great night with Habs and Sens winning.

We got the hockey cable package though and my DH had me dizzy while he flipped by every game being played.

Well, I'm not so happy about the Leafs losing, but I'm still so glad hockey's back! And I'll still say GO LEAFS GO!

LOL well it was great to see the Lafs lose but it was crappy they had to lose in the stupid shootout that is not how a hockey game should be finnished. It is regulation then overtime and if nothing then it is a tie only in the playoffs do they need to go til there is a winner.

What were they thinking??? You should end a game of hockey with the game of hockey, not some stupid shootout, that isn't hockey. If they tie so be it who cares? If you really must decide a winner then play sudden death but I have to agree with Charles on this one (although I didn't appreciate the "LAFS" comment) that sudden death belongs in the playoffs and 5 minutes of overtime for regular season, tie or not.

We are purists and this american flavour they are diluting our game with sucks all to try and make it more attractive to the casual fan in the US. What about teh die hard fans in Canada and the US we love our hockey without idiotic shootouts etc. As for the LAFS comment well I will take it back and use this one instead the Makebeleafs because they always make believe they will win the cup LOL.

I am loving these shootouts. :cool1: :cool1:

While I agree it isn't the best way to determine a win they are great to watch.

GO FLYERS GO!!!! Go Flyers Go Bring Back The Cup
Well you leaf fans finally got Lindros! Good Luck to you all

Yeah we got Lindros alright......at the end of the washed up, injury prone, has-beens career!!!!!!! We don't make believe....we are still rebuilding.......

Re building with an aging ailing core and not many good young prospects LOL. Philly showed what they were made of last night up 3-0 and losing. as for the shootouts they are not exciting and with only 3 shooters why not just play a longer or another OT with 3 skaters aside that would be really exciting.

Ok maybe not. I love the Leafs but the management must have been at Disney on vacation during the free agent frenzy. I mean they stood just as good of chance of picking up some choice players but instead waited until the end and got the scraps! Yes I agree that they are a bunch of old geezers and really need to look at some new players but instead choose to pay half their salary allowance to a goalie and a good but aging forward. I think ::MickeyMo could have made better business decisions!!!!

Yes I agree with the three aside or even 4, anything but shootouts

Hey ... they were UNDEFEATED last season ! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I do like the idea of OT with only 3 players on each side ... THAT would be exciting! I just think a shoot-out is not the way to win OR lose a hockey game.

Yep every team had a perfect season last year LOL. I have submitted the suggestion of the 3 on 3 OT rather than a shootout to the NHL via the NHL website.
